VP Marlon Sapla PROMOTING THE PRO CLIMATE CHANGE ADAPTATION AND MITI-GATION PLEDGE Last October 3, 2015, the Club led the conduct of ad-vocacy caravan on climate change mitigation and tree planting at Clark Freeport Zone and SCTEX Highways involving Rotary Clubs from RI District 3780, 3790 and 3820. A converging program was also held to highlight the commitment and support of the participating Rota-ry Clubs and other stakeholders. During the said con-verging program, the “PRO Climate Change Adapta-tion and Mitigation Pledge” was recited by all those who were present as they commit to act on the various climate change adaptation and mitigation measures. They also affixed their signatures on the pledge wall prepared for the purpose. Similarly, the same pledge was recited by those who attended the Climate Change Summit in Fontana Con-vention Center, Clark Freeport Zone, Pampanga on October 24, 2015.

But, what is really the essence of this pledge? It is very simple, let us start with ourselves, our families, and our Rotary Club. Let our actions influence others to do the same adaptation and mitigation measures. As an advoca-cy, it must be continued and sustained until the world will become as one in saving the earth. In so doing, this will be our best gift to the world and the whole mankind. As proud Rotarians, let us be PRO Climate Change Ad-aptation and Mitigation and be a GIFT TO THE WORLD!

Our sincerest appreciation to the office of the Quezon City Department of Health for conducting lectures on Re-sponsible Parenthood and Family Planning and distribu-tion of family planning supplies for free. Kudos to all par-ticipants of RCCs and RCSFDM!

Responsible Parenthood and Family Planning con Livelihood Seminar: Our Club made the first step on educating our Rotary Community Corps Members and Officers from E. Rodri-guez Sr. High School, Sinagtala Elementary School and Interlink Employees by inviting the Quezon City Depart-ment of Health Lecturers. It is timely that we also initiated the livelihood seminar on perfumed making with the same participants on October 28, 2015 held at the Inter-link Training Room, Topaz Bldg., Kamias Road, Quezon City. This is just the first journey of learning the importance of parenthood and livelihood generation in their community. There will be lined up series of seminars and training on livelihood with the adopted schools of Rotary Club of San Francisco Del Monte. This is one way of developing the RCCs as a self-contained community with responsible parenthood and sustainable livelihood projects. May I focus on Responsible Parenthood and Family Planning (RP-FP) component deals with issues related to sexual and reproductive health, including fertility and family planning concerns. It primarily aims to help cou-ples to realize their desired timing, spacing, and number of children in accordance with their socio-economic, emo-tional and psychological capacity.
