Mrs. Kirk can you please give me a summary for why the prayer club wore pink

for Breast Cancer Awareness for newspaper? Please return to TiAnna Ferrell by:

December 14th {Monday}. Thank you!

Mrs. Kirk replied with: We wanted to show off our support to all the

woman that suffers this disease. We have so many women in our community that

has or still has breast cancer. Wearing pink shows we care and we support each one

of them. I feel we need to teach our students to have compassion and care for all

women who suffer with this disease. Cancer is horrible and we pray for all that has

it.

The CMS Student Council joined the JR LEAD

program at CRHS to assist in their toy drive.

Donations benefited Logan County children this

holiday season. The Student Council would like

to thank everyone for their donations and help.

Prayer Club wanted to show off their support to all the woman that suffers

this disease. There are so many women in our community that had or still has

breast cancer. Wearing pink demonstrates compassion and support for each

one of them. Mrs. Kirk feels that they need to teach students to have compas-

sion and care for all women who suffer with this disease. Cancer is horrible

and they pray for anyone who has it.

Mrs. Lewis recently completed a project titled

“Fractions in Action in the Neighborhood.” For this

project, students had to make a map of a neighbor-

hood based on the directions given to them on their

handout. The activity focused on equivalent frac-

tions. Student were able to work in groups and even

created a rough draft of their maps on their tables

using expo markers. They enjoyed the project and

should always remember equivalent fractions.

I like Black Friday because it’s fun. Also you

get great deals on things. Black Friday is al-

so not just at night. Black Friday is a scam

for people to buy things. On Black Friday

you should buy things you need. Instead of

what you want. Black Friday is one of the

biggest days of the year. A lot of people start

looking at ads and preparing for this big

shopping day way in advanced.

Hunting season is an awesome thing. It is fun to go and spend time

with people you love. It keeps the balance of the wild game. A lot of

families planning hunting trips together. Hunters must remember all

the laws in order to be safe.

The Christmas Parade is an event that people in the community of

Chapmanville look forward to each other. It is an annual event that

everyone participates in. Churches, athletes, bands, majorettes and

even Santa are some of the familiar faces you see in the parade.

Sometimes it ends out to be a white Christmas especially during the

parade. It’s a great way for the community to come together. Every

year my family and I go out to the parade as well as many families. It

is a Christmas tradition in our community. A lot of the children look

forward to seeing Santa in the parade.

his prey, he realizes he can’t shoot

her. For John, the hunt is no long-

Ms. Bias

Ms. Bias is an AMAZING 5th grade teacher!!!! I personally asked her some questions about her.

Bella. I also have two cats named AlLee and Tigger.

#3 What is your favorite food? Pizza!!!! Pizza!!!! Pizza!!!!

#4 How long have you been a teacher? This is my 37th year of teaching. I started my career way

back in the Fall of 1979. I have seen many changes over the years in teaching strategies.

from the magazine “Guideposts” when I read.

enjoyed the Hunger Games Movies.

#7 What is your full name? Drema G. Bias

#8 When is your birthday? My birthday is April 2.

#9 What is your favorite sport? I actually have two football and baseball.

#10 What is your favorite team? My favorite football and baseball teams are from Cincinnati:

Bengals and Reds.

Here is some bonus Q and A with Ms. Bias!!!!!!

My favorite football and baseball teams are from Cincinnati: Bengals and Reds. My favorite

television shows currently are The 100 and The Walking Dead. My favorite season is spring be-

cause everything in nature comes back to life. My favorite color is blue because it just relaxes a

person. The most important thing in my life is my family, especially my mother Phyllis Bias. She

always inspired my two brothers and I to do our best. She believes in working.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone

Harry Potter did not know he was a wizard until the

wizards from Hogwarts School of Witch Craft and

wizardly starts giving him letters. Mr. Dursley tries to

hide them but they just keep sending them. After Mr.

Dursley reaches his breaking point, Hagrid comes to

take Harry away from the dreadful place. Harry gets

to go on the train and meets his best friend Ron Wea-

sley. When they get there, something strange is going on at Hogwarts. When

Harry finally finds the sorcerers stone.

When you doe hunt you have to have orange on. Also you can only kill a certain amount of

deer. You have to have deer hunting permits. You have to tag

your deer also.

Also doe season comes in 9/26/15 with a bow. With a gun it

comes in 11/14/15 and with a muzzle loader it comes in in

10/17/15. The bag limit with a gun is two deer.

It’s illegal to hunt or trap deer on some else’s land. Also you

cannot hunt with a fully automatic firearm. You cannot shoot a

deer while it is in water. Carry a gun without a case on it. You

can shoot a gun 400 feet away from a church or school.

Christmas Wishes

By Mollie Kirk

Jingle here, jingle there

Time for presents to be

shared

Time for the stocking to be

hung with care

Christmas time is in the air!

Don’t you love snow days? They are so beau-

tiful and amazing if you know what I mean.

You can build snow piles and jump in them

have an amazing time with your friends by

throwing snowballs at each other. Also you

can build a snow man and have a big orange

carrot for his nose! But you might not want to

drive because there can be really bad results,

like wreaking and getting hurt bad or some-

one in your family could get hurt. It’s cold to but that’s ok! You can still

have fun with your family! However, remember even snow days are great

we have to keep in mind the 180 school day law.
