Until July 17, you may have a time voyage through Istanbuls hidden ships and discover the details of thousands of years ago.In 2005 , during the excavation of Marmaray ( the worlds deepest immersed tube tunnel project) Theodosius Harbour was found. It was an archeological breaking news because ship wrecks dated back to 5th -11 th cent. B.C have been brought to the light of day and it was discovered that Istanbuls history went further beyond that it had been known before. Necati Badem inspired by these ships that witnessed history ,presents a time voyage through the 8500 years of Istanbul. This exhibitions helps the minds that quest who contribute in the shaping of the culture of Istanbul where has been the homeland of main ancient civilizations.Necati Badem has made thousands of broken- stiffed amphoras and collected objects from antic cities, seas, rivers, mountains. He, as if has molded nature and history in ceramic.22 pieces of art , measurements vary between 19x53 15x37 exhibited at Nakka Art Gallery promises a mystical journey in Anatolia. Theodosius, Constantinople, Troy, Yenikap, Harem, Cappadocia, Urla are some example names of the art objects. In addition , artist names after some of his works of art as Rembrandt, Osman Hamdi Bey ,Van Gogh and with his interpretations of colors, he salutes these famous painters.

Necati Bayram has been working on reviving the sunken ships found during Marmaray excavations for two years. Recently on May 17, he has started to welcome artlovers to his ceramic exhibition called Hidden Ships of Istanbul at Nakka Art Gallery , Sultanahmet.

a young boy called Elmesu carved a Fathers Day message on a card made out of clay nearly 4,000 years ago. Elmesu wished his Babylonian father good health and a long life. Though there is no record of what happened to Elmesu and his father but the tradition of celebrating Fathers Day remained in several countries all over the world.

HISTORY OF FATHERS DAY IN USModern version of Fathers Day celebration originated in United States of America and thereafter the tradition spread in countries around the world. The world owes thanks to Ms Sonora Louise Smart Dodd a loving daughter from Spokane, Washington as it is because of her struggle that Fathers Day saw the light of the day. The idea of Fathers Day celebration originated in Sonoras mind when she per chance listened to Mothers Day sermon in 1909. Fairly mature at the age 27, Sonora pondered if there is a

Sonoras mother died while childbirth when she was just 16. Mr Smart raised the newborn and five other children with love and care. Inspired by Ms Anna Jarviss struggle to promote Mothers Day, Ms Dodd began a rigorous campaign to celebrate Fathers Day in US. The Spokane Ministerial Association and the local Young Mens Christian Association (YMCA) supported Sonoras cause. As a result Spokane celebrated its first Fathers Day on June 19, 1910. Though there was initial hesitation the idea gained gradual popularity all over US and Fathers Day came to be celebrated in cities across the country. Looking at the heightened popularity of Fathers Day in US, President Woodrow Wilson approved of this idea in 1916. President Calvin Coolidge too supported the idea of a national Fathers Day in 1924 to, establish more intimate relations between fathers and their children

and to impress upon fathers the full measure of their obligations. After a protracted struggle of over four decades, President Lyndon Johnson signed a presidential proclamation declaring the third Sunday of June as Fathers Day in 1966. Then in 1972, President Richard Nixon established a permanent national observance of Fathers Day to be held on the third Sunday of June. Sonora Smart Dodd was honored for her contribution at the Worlds Fair in Spokane in 1974. Mrs. Dodd died in 1978 at age 96.

FATHERS DAY: CONTROVERSY AND COMMERCIALISMDuring the 1920s and 1930s, a movement arose to scrap Mothers Day and Fathers Day altogether in favor of a single holiday, Parents Day. Every year on Mothers Day, pro-Parents Day groups rallied in New York Citys Central Parka public reminder, said Parents Day activist and radio performer Robert Spere, that both parents should be loved and respected together. Paradoxically, however, the Depression derailed this effort to combine and de-commercialize

the holidays. Struggling retailers and advertisers redoubled their efforts to make Fathers Day a second Christmas for men, promoting goods such as neckties, hats, socks, pipes and tobacco, golf clubs and other sporting goods, and greeting cards. When World War II began, advertisers began to argue that celebrating Fathers Day was a way to honor American troops and support the war effort. By the end of the war, Fathers Day may not have been a federal holiday, but it was a national institution.

Many types of food can be prepared and with so many Muslims all over the world celebrating this holy festival there are different varieties. The Whole Wheat Pita Bread is one such food that is famous in all Muslim houses during this special holy season. It is indeed perfect for those of you who are looking to add more more wheat ingredients to your diet. This bread has both white and wheat flour and is really simple to make.

Ramadan has its own delicacies, Many savory and sweet options that are not available during the rest of the year appear on tables as a symbol of the abundance of this month. Warm Ramadan pita bread is the symbol of the rich iftar feast tables.

TO GET STARTED YOU NEED :Warm Water- 21/2 cups Dry Yeast- 11/2 spoon Honey- I tsp Wheat Flour- 2 cups Purpose Flour-3 cups vegetable Oil- 1 tsp Salt to taste Directions:- You have to first dissolve the yeast in warm water . Add honey to it and stir. Afetr about 10 to 15 minutes the water will begin to froth. Now in a separate bowl, you have to mix the wheat flour and the white flour along with the salt for taste. After you mix the flour continuously, make a small depression in the middle and pour the yeast water. Now add in some warm yeast water and stir with a wooden spoon preferably until you see the dough becoming elastic. Knead the dough till it becomes smooth and elastic. In a large bowl of vegetable oil , place the dough so that it is covered in the oil. Cover it and let it stay for about 3 hours. Let it be

in a warm place until it has doubled in size. Once you see that the dough is doubled , roll out in a rope and pinch out 10 to 12 pieces. Now roll out the dough into circles with a rolling pin, onto a floured surface. Make sure that each piece is about 5 to 6 inches across and inches thick. In a n oven of 500 degree C, bake the circled shaped dough for 4 minutes till it puffs up. Like wise turn over the dough and bake again for 2 minutes. After it baked, remove the pita with a wooden spatula and gently push down the puff and ploace in the storage bag. To keep the Pita Bread for a longer time, you have to store it well in a proper place so that you can keep it longer and it will stay fresh every time you grab a bite. It can be stored for a month too if you keep it in a freezer bag and place it in the refrigerator.
