ISTD Case Analysis Competition 2014
Are you ready for challenges?
If yes, then ISTD Case Analysis Competition organized by ISTD Ahmedabad Chapter gives you an
opportunity to apply your classroom education and internship experiences to create and implement
concepts of management. The competition aims at developing your business skills like analytical,
problem solving and decision making and prepare you for the business environment.
Team Composition
Each team will be comprised of two currently enrolled students in MBA/PGDM/PGP or equivalent.
Entries are also invited from BBA/BMS/BFT or equivalent students. . There are prizes to be won in each
category. The team members should be from the same institute and same programme.
The competition is only for currently enrolled management students. Finalists should carry their
identity cards at the time of presentation.
All the teams selected for stage three will get certificates
Stage 1: Registration: The team should register online on or before February 2, 2014. There is no
registration or any other fee.Please follow this ,ink for registration

The teams will get registration number which should be used for further communication
Stage 2: Submission of Case Analysis: Case will be sent to registered teams on February 12, 2014 at.
The teams should submit case analysis by February 13, 2014. The analysis should be sent at

Case Analysis
Each team will be given 24-32 hours to devise a solution for case. The teams can select any
method/approach for case analysis
The case may cover multiple functional areas
Teams may not consult with non-team members during preparation of the case analysis or on the day
of competition. This includes faculty, advisors, staff, ambassadors, and fellow students
The teams should submits case analysis (problem, issues, theory, solution, suggestions etc.) as per
following format
Length: Up to 5 pages Format: Font: Times New Roman, text: 12, subheading: 14, heading: 16, Margins: 1 cm on all
sides, spacing: 1.5, Doc or Docx file only.
First page: Author details (name, affiliation, email, contact number). Please do not write yourname and/or contact details on any other page/s.
File Name: (Registration Number)_ Name of first author Evaluation criteria: Problem identification, Analysis, Theoretical background, Feasibility of
application, Innovation and creativity
Stage 3: Case Presentations: Selected teams will be invited to make power point presentation on
February 22, 2014. The details will be communicated later.
Presentations
The presentation will be for 15 minute each, followed by question-and-answer session with a panel of
judges
We highly recommend that the presentation of the case include all team members to capitalize on the
strengths of each team member

About ISTD
The Indian Society for Training & Development (ISTD), established in April 1970, is a national level
professional & non-profit society registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860. It has a large
membership of individuals and institutions involved in the area of training and development of Human
Resource from Government, Public and Private Sector Organizations & Enterprises; Educational and
Training Institutions and other Professional Bodies.
The Society is affiliated to the International Federation of Training and Development Organizations
(IFTDO), USA and Asian Regional Training and Development Organizations (ARTDO), Manila.
ISTD Organizes Training Programs, all over the country both at Chapter and National Levels. The
programs cover selected areas of HRD with special emphasis on Training of Trainers, Training Goals &
Objectives and Training tools & Technologies. A very large number of Public & Private Sector
Organizations, Training Institutions Central and State Government Participate in these programs,
some of which have been held in collaboration with Planning Commission, Bureau of Public Enterprises
and the Training Division of Department of Personnel, Government Of India.
