A brief history of Taranto

“Istituto Plateja” is a school founded in 1997 in Taranto and placed into an expanding city area
where there are many shops, public offices, banks and the Library of the city.
Brick by brick, the school layed a strong foundation for its future growth. Year by Year new classes
were added and the management has always been keen in seeing that the staff of the school gave their best attention to the intellectual moral and
physical formation of the students.The public at large is of the opinion that the Istituto Plateja is one of the best in the city of Taranto and
since 3 years a branch was added.
The Istituto Plateja engages students aged 14 to 20 in joyful, meaningful and creative learning through a theme-based, experimental curriculum and stages at the near industries, as we prepare our students for life-long learning, service and citizenship.
Teachers promote the creation of new and vital visions of learning and teaching.
When students reflect on their experiences, they develop a genuine understanding of what they’ve studied. Reflection reinforces and enhances their learning. It allows them to better retain information and build on earlier discoveries.
Project work, international language exams, computer study and e-twinning projects with European schools are important activities in our studies as we believe in technology and human resources.
