Audience

The Foundation Level qualification is designed for professionals who need to have a hands-on knowledge on the fundamental concepts of software testing. This includes people performing in roles such as testers, test analysts, test engineers, test consultants, test managers, user acceptance testers and software developers.

The Foundation Level qualification is also appropriate for anyone who needs a basic understanding of software testing, such as project managers, quality managers, software development managers, business analysts, IT directors and management consultants.

Requirements

To achieve the Foundation Level certification, a hands-on experience of more 6 months in software testing is recommended.

Mr. Alon Linetzki has been a testing expert, a coach and an advisor in the field of testing and quality assurance for the last 18 years, and has a considerable experience in IT for more than 28 years. Mr. Linetzki has acted as a coach and consultant for more than 1,000 professional engineers and managers in more than 20 companies during his professional career.

Mr. Linetzki is a reputed speaker on conferences worldwide since 1995, having published technical articles on the testing subject in relevant magazines in Israel and around the world.

He is the founder of SIGiST Israel (the Israeli testing forum) in 2000, and co-founder of the Israeli ISTQB® branch (ITCB) in 2004. He is currently leading the ISTQB® marketing stream Partner Program, and is the official representative of ITCB at ISTQB meetings. He acts as the Vice president of ITCB and the Marketing director, and is a member of the ITCB executive board.

Mr. Linetzki is a certified Leader Quality Auditor, certified scrum master, certified system analyst, ISTQB® certified Foundation Level, ISTQB® certified Advanced Level – Test Manager, ISTQB® certified Advanced Level – Test Analyst. He holds a Bs.c. in Statistics, and an MBA (cum laude).

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

• Use a common language for efficient and effective communication with other testers and project stakeholders

• Understand established testing concepts, the fundamentals of the test process, test approaches and principles to support test objectives

• Design and prioritize tests by using established techniques; analyze both functional and non-functional specifications (such as performance and usability) at all test levels for systems with a low to medium level of complexity

• Execute tests according to agreed test plans, and analyze and report on the results of tests

• Write clear and understandable incident report

• Effectively participate in reviews of small to medium-sized projects

• Be familiar with different types of testing tools and their uses; assist in the selection and implementation process
