DESCRIPTION
During the 2014 Iraq crisis, the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) tracked on a daily basis the movement of ISIS as it took Mosul and then moved further in its offensive to establish its caliphate spanning most of Syria and Iraq. These daily Situation Reports (SITREPs) and Terrain Control Maps document how ISIS and Iraqi government forces moved during this critical time.
