PRINCIPAL’S THOUGHTS
This Saturday 11 November marks the 99th anniversary of the Armistice that ended the First World War (1914–18). Each year on the 11 November, Australians observe one minute’s silence at 11 am, in memory of those who died or suffered in all wars and armed conflicts. Tomor-row we will be holding our Remembrance Day Ceremony. Families are more than welcome to join us from 10:45am in the outdoor Assembly Area.
Today we had our 5/6 T20 Blast Girls and Boys teams playing cricket at Aero Ovals and we had the four teams playing very well with great cricket skills and tremendous sportspersonship. Tomorrow we have three teams entered in the 3/4 T20 Blast Cricket competition.
Tomorrow our Preps are having their annual Community excursion. We hope they have a great day learning new things as they visit the Mildura Airport, Commonwealth Bank, Library and Police station.
All families are reminded that enrolments for 2018 Prep students from our neighbour-hood are now being finalised. We know that there are a number of families with prospective prep students who have not yet returned their enrolment form. We ask that these forms be brought to the school office by the end of next week at the latest. Next week we have the 2018 Prep Interviews after school on either Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday afternoons. These interviews support a smooth transition for our new students.
Huge reminder - Orders are now being taken for our 2017 School Magazine. The magazine is a compilation of the wonderful activities that have happened and a great keepsake for children, with lots of photos and stories from the 2017 school year. The order form accompanies the newsletter, so make sure you return it to the office with your payment as soon as possible & no later than Monday 20 November 2017. No late orders can be accepted.
Friday 8 December 2017 is a pupil-free day where students do not come to school.

Grade 2W listened to a book called ‘Stuck’. It was all about
a boy called Floyd who got his kite stuck in a tree. He threw
lots of things in the tree to try and get his kite down, including
a house and a blue whale, but they all became stuck as well.
Floyd kept persisting and eventually he threw a saw into the
tree and his kite fell down.
We then thought of all the things we could say to ourselves to
help us to be persistent when we find something challenging.
