"IT IS FINISHED!"Sixth Saying of Jesus on the Cross
JOHN 19:30
Therefore when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, "It is finished!" And He bowed His head and gave up His spirit.
WHAT WAS FINISHED FOR JESUS
His separation from God. His poverty and toil. His weariness, hunger, and
temptation. His earthly grief and pain.
WHAT WAS FINISHED IN HISTORY?
The end of the old covenant The end to the rule of sin and death The end of hopelessness and
separation from God The end of one man struggle to fulfill
his calling and purpose
WHAT DOES THAT MEAN FOR US?
1. The separation or distance we feel from God is not God’s plan and is contrary to what Jesus died for.
2. Enduring, going through hardships and struggles are a part of this life and a part of seeing His kingdom come, His will be done on the earth.
3. There is a end to this life and a beginning to the next
