What would your company do IF ????

February 20, 2013

According to statistics published by the Association of Records Managers and Administrators, of those businesses that lost their records in a fire:

44% NEVER reopened their doors again, and 30% of those that DID reopen FAILED to survive beyond 3 years after the fire.

• WHY? Because trying to concurrently operate a business, manage a disaster, prove losses to an insurance company and restore property- proved to be impossible for 3 out of 4 firms. AND the statistics on floods are even worse!!

•Do you have a plan?•Does your COMPANY have a Plan?

This was our office area. Most paper files were destroyed.

Have A PLAN for your Company

Who is in charge? If they are not able to be on-site who is next in chargeWho talks to the media?Who will contact employees? Do they have a contact list??Who will contact clients?Who will contact vendors?Who will answer the phone at your company the next day? Does your company have an off-site back plan?

These are just some of the questions you will need to have the answers for!!

Have a Plan for your Family

What if??

Does your Company Have a Plan For this?

What about this??

• Plan before the disaster happens• Do you know what your insurance covers?

• fire damage, wind damage, sewer backup, water damage, trauma cleanup, etc.• Do you understand what your insurance covers?

• Business loss, ACV vs RCV policy, policy limits, code updates, etc.

• Do you have someone to contact in case of a disaster?• When you have a disaster is that the time to interview companies to see who can help

you?• Do you have data back up? off-site back up?

• Can your company survive without it?

• Do you have a plan to be able to open the next day?• How many days can you be closed?

This was our Open House a little over 6 months after our fire……

THANK YOU FOR YOU TIME!!
