Introduction:

Two people – a genius, and an idiot

They are totally from different places in

different conditions. However, her

brave confession and keep on carving

unflaggingly. She makes all the

impossible tasks into possible.

Chapter 1

It was the worst day in Jean’s life.

Her love letter was rejected and a serious

fire accident destroyed her new home.

Today was really not her day!

Jean is a seventeen-year-old girl. She

studies at a very famous senior high

school- Yang Ming Senior High School.

However, she is not smart, so she is in

the worst class; everyone in her class is

not smart and never does well on their

tests.

Naoki is a seventeen-year-old boy.

He also studied at

Yang Ming Senior High. He is the most

intelligent student at this school.

Moreover, he is a very good looking boy.

By the way, he is the boy who just

rejected Jean.

Jean has had crashed on him since

she first saw him. However, she was

rejected and Naoki said to her “I don’t

want to spend time on this boring thing,

especially you a brainless girl.” Jean felt

so sad. She did not believe she could

spend two long years on this proud,

cold-blooded boy.

Jean thought she was the unluckiest

girl in the world. Why have all of these

miserable things happened to her?

Jean’s father, Charles, went to her and

told her some “good news”. Charles’s

high school classmate, Ben, read about

the news of the fire accident from the

newspaper. He called Charles and

asked if Charles would mind moving to

his house. Maybe it counted good news

for Jean.

Jean never thought Ben was Naoki’s

father!! Well, how could she describe

this “special day?” When she saw

Naoki that night, she felt so embarrassed.

She would be a groundhog so that she

could dig a hole and hide herself in if she

could. She could not imagine what

would happen the following days.

Chapter 2

Naoki and Jean have lived together

for about two years, and they are going

to graduate from school very soon.

Naoki still treats Jean coldly, but

Jean still loves him. She once said she

will never give up the idea to be with

Naoki.

“Wait! Wait! Wait!” Jean said to Naoki

and was running after him.

“Look! From now on, you must stay

away from me at least one hundred

meters,” Naoki said coldly.

Jean was rejected again, but she still

kept walking after Naoki, and she really

wanted to have an opportunity to be with

Naoki. However, it seemed the dream

would never come true. Even though she

had been rejected many times, she still

loved Naoki.

Naoki’s mother, Helen, likes Jean

very much. She even wants Jean to be

her daughter-in-law. She saw this

situation, so she started to plan how to

get Naoki and Jean together. The

prince and Cinderella are supposed to

have a happy ending, aren’t they?

She created many opportunities to

let Naoki and Jean get together. She

always found many excuses and left two

of them home alone. Moreover, she

told Jean what Naoki liked to eat how to

cook the dish and make a cake.

Poor Jean, she never made the dish

neither the cake successfully. Jean

received some good information that

Naoki was a very good cook because

when she ruined the dish, Naoki was the

one who always made the dish better and

more delicious, just like he had a magic

wand.

Chapter 3

“Which university are you going to?”

Jean asked Naoki curiously.

“It’s none of your business,” said Naoki.

“Ha-ha, I asked a stupid question, right?

Of course you are going to National

Taiwan University,” Jean murmured.

“Well, could it be said that you want

to go to the same university with me?”

Naoki asked in a banteringly way.

“Nonsense. I never thought of this,

and even more I will never qualify to go

there,” Jean said nervously.

She was shocked why Naoki knew

what she was thinking about. She

really wanted to go to the same

university with him, but how?

“Have you thought about your future,

Naoki? Go to National Taiwan

University and after graduating from

school, come to inherit my business.

Don’t you think it’s good for your

future?” said Ben.

“I’ve never thought about going to

National Taiwan University.

Furthermore, I am not planning to go to

any university! I don’t need professors to

teach me. You know I can study myself.

Don’t make any decisions for me. I am

supposed to make my own decisions, not

you,” Naoki answered angrily.

Jean heard about their conversation

inadvertently. She never knew what

Naoki was thinking in his mind, but she

knew that Naoki had not figured out his

living goal yet. She was worried about

Naoki, but what could she do?

She thought maybe she could help

Naoki to find his own dream and future.

Jean asked many people about their

dreams, and she got some ideas. Some

people want to be a college student;

some people want to find a job after

graduation; some people want to be a

cook; and some people want to work for

themselves, and of course to be a boss.

Everyone has his or her own dream.

Jean thinks the information might help

Naoki to find his goal.

Chapter 4

Naoki seems that he does not care

about his own career, neither even talked

about what Jean had done for him.

He told Jean to stop daydreaming,

and it was useless for him. Moreover,

he laughs at Jean because he thought she

was not very smart.

“You are too smart so that it seems

nothing to you. You know what? I

think the universities are only set up for

you this kind person. Even though we

are stupid, and always don’t do well on

tests, at least everyone in my class still

has his aim,” Jean said firmly. “For

your own future, it’s worthy to take some

tome.”

Naoki never thought Jean would say

this some day, and for what she said was

right. Well, maybe you could say he

felt a little thankful in his mind.

Charles found a small apartment, so

he and Jean moved out of Ben’s house.

He did not want to disturb Naoki’s life

because Jean. He knew Naoki would

have a good future, so he could not let

Jean ruin his life. Moreover, he wanted

Jean to give up the idea of being with

Naoki. When Jean got the news about

moving out of Chang’s, Jean was very

sad. She thought maybe she never

would have any opportunity to see Naoki

in the future.

To make her father feel better, she

decided not to meet Naoki anymore, but

she knew she could not. Therefore, the

best was to keep a distance from Naoki.

She kept away from him the

possible situations that she might meet

Naoki. However, things happen all the

time.

She never knew that Naoki would

stay at Yang Ming University, which

meant she could not keep Naoki away

her mind.

For Helen, she was very pleased

with this news, and she thought Naoki

and Jean would keep in touch, and there

were still opportunities that Jean could

be her daughter-in-law. She was so sad

about Charles and Jean had to move out

of their house.

Chapter 5

Naoki decided to go to the same

school as he studied in senior high

school. After the graduation test, Jean

was assigned to University of Yang Ming.

Jean felt a little happy with her test result.

She would go to the same university as

Naoki. It meant there were still many

possibilities to see Naoki on campus.

Actually, Jean felt a little happy

about this news. After all, she still

loved him.

There was a pretty and intelligent

girl in Naoki’s class, Queenie. She also

liked Naoki. She went to this

university because of Naoki, and she had

heard many things about Naoki when she

was in senior high school.

Queenie always found many excuses

to “date” Naoki. She asked if Naoki

could teach her schoolwork, and go to

the movies on the weekend. Moreover,

she knew Naoki wanted to find a part

time job, so she invited him go to her

house and to be her younger sister’s

tutor.

When Jean heard about Queenie, she

realized she had a rival!

She discovered many ways keeping

Queenie away from Naoki. She did not

want Queenie to take Naoki away.

Jean had a school brother, Jason, and

he liked Queenie very much. He had

long been familiar with Naoki, too. He

was not very happy to hear that Queenie

would date with Naoki.

To win her heart, he even found a

person to plunder Queenie, so that he

could save her from the danger. That

way, Queenie would think he was a hero.

He and Jean always followed after them

secretly, so that they could know what

Queenie and Naoki were doing.

The Christmas was coming soon,

and Jean wanted to invite Naoki to go to

party with her. She did not want to see

Queenie go to the party with Naoki

because it would be harmful for her.

“If Naoki agrees to go to the party with

me, it will be the best Christmas present

for me. I can dance with my Mr. Right.

What a life!” She knows that is an

impossible task, but she still wanted to

try.

Chapter 6

“Jean, invite my son, it will be his

pleasure,” Helen encouraged Jean.

“But, Aunt Helen, you know Naoki will

not agree to go to the party with me,”

Jean worried.

“Don’t worry, he is my son, and I know

him very well. I am very sure he likes

you.”

“Aunt Helen, thank you very much for

saying these kind words. I promise I

will give a try to invite him. I hope he

will agree to it.”

“Good girl, that’s my Jean.”

Jean went to Naoki and asked him if

he would go to the Christmas party with

her.

“Naoki, may I ask you something?”

“Ok, what do you want to know?”

“I’m wondering if you would go to the

Christmas party with me?”

“Um…..”

“If you don’t want to, that’s okay. I

won’t force you to do the things you

don’t want to do.”

“Well, I don’t think I have any date that

evening. I will go to the party with

you.”

“Really? That’s great, thank you very

much. I will appreciate.”

“No problem, just don’t make any

trouble for me. I’ll pick you up at six

thirty to evening. Is the time okay?”

“Sure, no problem! I’ll wait for you at

six thirty. Thank you.”

Jean can’t believe that Naoki agreed

to go to the party with her. She felt

very happy after that night. She was

too excited to fall asleep.

“Thanks for the ride, Naoki. I thought

you would go to the party with

Queenie.”

“She did ask me to go with her, but I

didn’t agree. I think maybe I should

give Jason an opportunity. After all, he

is working so hard to get Queenie’s

heart.”

“Well, I think you like Queenie. You

go out dates very often.”

“There’s nothing between Queenie and

I,” said Naoki.

“Really?” Jean said happily.

“Yeah, we did go out. But all the things

I can with her is just to teach her

schoolwork. I don’t think we can be a

couple. She’s not the kind of girl I

like.”

“Naoki, will you consider to be my

boyfriend?”

“Um…”

“I have crashing on you for four years.

I know I have made a lot of trouble for

you. But I really didn’t mean

anything.”

“Well, you know what? Since the day

you gave me that

letter, it had ruined my life. Life has

become unusual anymore because of you.

You completely ruined my life.

Everything had become uncontrolled as I

planned. However, the irony is that you

changed my life. Before you showed

up, I didn’t know what I wanted to do in

the future. You helped me a lot and

also helped me to find my own dream.”

“I….”

“You know you are big trouble for me,

but it’s very sweet. I don’t know what

my life would be like if you had never

appeared.”

“I’m so surprised, Naoki, you know

that?”

“Maybe I’ll marry you… but not from

the arrangement from my parents. I don’t

know.”

“Are you serious?’

“Do I look like I’m joking with you?

Merry Christmas and so nice to have you

in my life!”

“Does it mean you agree to be my

boyfriend?”

Naoki didn’t speak, but Jean knew

the answer. She knew her life will

change badly into good. It was the best

Christmas present she had received in

her life, her life will become better and

better because of Naoki.
