Italy 2017Day 1 - Depart USAYour Italian adventure begins as you depart on your internationalflight.

Day 2 - Arrive in MilanOur representatives will meet you at the airport in Milan. Beginyour time in Italy with a stop overlooking Lake Garda, Italy’slargest lake. Continue on to Verona, home to Roman ruins and acourtyard that is reminiscent of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet,whose story was set in Verona. Finish the day at your hotel inVerona for dinner and overnight.

Day 3 - Venice Travel by boat to the magical city of Venice. Rising between seaand sky, this fascinating city encompasses 118 islandsseparated by more than 150 canals. Stand in the Piazza SanMarco, bordered on three sides by palatial arcades in two tiersand faced on the other by the Basilica of St. Mark. Tour theBasilica with its treasure of marble and gold-backgroundmosaics. From the square, you can see the famous Bell Towerand the Clock Tower, as well as the charming pink and whiteDoges’ Palace. After seeing the romantic Bridge of Sighs, enjoyfree time to explore on your own. You can shop, stroll along thebridges and canals, or even indulge in a gondola ride along theGrand Canal. Dinner and overnight in Venice area.

Day 4 - Pisa and LuccaTravel to Pisa and snap your photo in front of the famous LeaningTower. Originally designed to stand straight, it began to leanduring its construction in 1173 and corrective efforts have failed.Even without its tilt, the building is still one of the mostremarkable bell towers in Europe and one of several renownedbuildings in the center of Pisa. Wander the medieval walled cityof Lucca, the birthplace of Puccini. Each of the walls is lined witha different species of tree. Together they encompass a town fullof medieval churches. Check into your Montecatini Terme areahotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 5 - Florence The elegant city of Florence is nestled between a line of hills andthe banks of the Arno River. During your stay, enjoy the beautifulgardens and a leisurely stroll through the open-air markets. Everystreet, square and winding alley of Florence is a showcase forRomanesque, Gothic and Renaissance grandeur. AmongFlorence’s masterpieces, you’ll see the Piazza della Signoria withits Neptune Fountain and Vecchio Palace, the Santa Maria del

Fiore Cathedral which houses Michelangelo’s unfinished Pietá,the Baptistry which features Ghiberti’s famous Gates ofParadise, and the Academy where you can view some ofMichelangelo’s finished and unfinished work, including the awe-inspiring David. Overnight in Montecatini Terme.

Day 6 - San Gimignano and SienaThis morning, continue on to one of the most charming andpicturesque of all the Tuscan hill towns, San Gimignano. Magicalmedieval towers dominate the town. Beautiful Siena is builtacross several hills and valleys. The focal point of the city is theshell-shaped town square which is both a meeting place andmarket place. It is also the venue for the town’s famous horserace known as the "Palio." Overnight in Montecatini Terme.

Day 7 - AssisiYour journey continues as you travel to Assisi, the charmingmedieval town once home to Saint Francis. Just two years afterhis death, the large Basilica was started in his memory. At onetime, the land on which the church stands was an executionground for condemned criminals. In his humility, Saint Francisasked to be buried there, and it became known as the Hill ofParadise. Overnight in Rome area.

Day 8 - Ancient Rome Explore the many wonders of ancient Rome as you visit themagnificent Colosseum and the Pantheon. From the most sacredhill of ancient Rome, Campidoglio,view the Forum. See the CircusMaximus, Arch of Titus, famousBaths of Caracalla, and Arch ofConstantine, as well as, the VictorEmanuel Monument and theMonti Region. In the afternoon,discover why Rome is also knownas the “City of Love.” Explore theromance of Rome as you climb thegraceful Spanish Steps and stopat the famous Trevi Fountain.Legend says those who toss a coininto the fountain will one dayreturn to Rome to toss anotherinto the waters of Trevi. Day 12 - Isle of CapriEnjoy a boat ride to the lovely Isle of Capri which has captivatedvisitors from Roman Caesars to modern travelers. Between itsbreathtaking beauty and rich history, you’ll understand why onevisitor came for a day and stayed for fifty years.

Day 13 - Pompeii, RomeVisit the spectacular ruins in Pompeii which were covered by theeruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 A.D. The city remained buried andundiscovered until excavation began in 1748. These excavationscontinue today, providing insight into life during the Roman Empire.Continue to the Rome area for dinner and overnight.

• Final payment for all guests will be due 75 days prior to departure. Thereafter, a late payment fee of $100 will be assessed.
