This picture shows the elaborate detail the Romans adopted from the Greeks. There are many features that are elaborate, like the hair, eyes, ears, and mouth. Remember when we learned about how the Greeks used marble, and they became more detailed.

This is a picture of the Coliseum in Rome. Italy. It took about 10 years to complete. It seats 50,000 and was used for gladiator fights and public assemblies. The Romans also used the arch which they . This is one of ancient Rome’s longest standing building. It is like a football field where there are seats all around and little arches so you can get to your seats.

These are pictures of ruins of a gladiator battlefield, similer to the Roman Coliseum, but much smaller. There are special places where they but the lions and animals to fight.

It has worn away, but not badly. This was very exciting to see because we got to see some of the parts they were still uncovering and restoring some ruins The tour guide was just leaving when we got there. She gave a quick tour of the secret places the rest of the people couldn’t see.
