Rome is the capital city of Italy: it is both an ancient and a modern city.

Rome has a lot of beautiful fountains.and

monuments.

One of the best known monument is the Colosseum, the amphitheatre in which games with gladiators and beasts were played.

This is S. Pietro’s the most famous church in Rome (Città del Vaticano).

Visiting Naples you can and enjoy a sight of Mt. Vesuvius: one of the best known volcanoes.

Pompei is also very famous.

In Naples you can taste the typical Italian pizza. The most famous is “pizza margherita”.

It is topped with sliced fresh tomatoes and mozzarella cheese.

In Italy, a typical meal has several courses. It sometimes begins with “antipasti”, may be melon and ham. Next is served the pasta course: the most famous are spaghetti or lasagne. Then there is a meat or fish course with a salad. Cheese and fruit are served next, then a dessert.

Going to the south of Italy you can see the old typical houses in Alberobello: they are called TRULLI.

You can end your tour travelling throughthe Italian Riviera and reach the wonderful LIGURIA.

This region is one of the biggest suppliers of cut flowers in the world. The flowers are grown in greenhouses on the hillsides.
