TRIO-50.0/60.0-TL-OUTD main features

− Developed for Commercial, industrial and utility-grade PV installations;

− Reduced installation cost by not requiring any major commissioning activity;

− Light weight construction to make the installation manageable by a team of 2 people;

− Multiple versions available to meet plant designer requirements;

Today offer

TRIO-50/60.TL-OUTD

TRIO-50.0/60.0-TL-OUTD main features

– Transformer-less (TL) topology

– Separated DC and AC compartments offered in multiple versions (factory pre-configured) to include:

• String fuses (in both poles)

Today offer

TRIO-50/60.TL-OUTD

TRIO-GROUNDING-KIT

Only NEGATIVE. One kit for each Inverter (also in case of 3MPPT). It allows to use those PV panels that need a connection to the ground.

TRIO-AC-WIRING-KIT

Needed in case of bigger AC cables (specially aluminum). AC connection cable size up to 150 mm2 aluminum and copper (standard AC connection is 95mm2 aluminum/copper).

DISPLAY

The display is integrated in the DCWB. There are versions with display included for eachDCWB. They have to be ordered by dedicated PN

Additional options

TRIO-50/60.TL-OUTD

TRIO- “Unipack”

TRIO-50/60-TL-OUTD

Unique package for TRIO-50/60-TL-OUTD

To reduce custom duty, the most popular configurations of TRIO are available already grouped in single packages including:

1. Power Module2. ACWB3. DCWB4. Vertical mounting bracket5. Additional lower mounting bracket.

Each package can be ordered by a dedicated PN

Additional lower mounting bracket

This is suggested for those cases in which TRIO is subjectedto high tilting, like in strong winds areas

July 12, 2017 Slide 22

Commissioning over Ethernet

− Automatic setting up of the communication afterthe turning on of the inverters(i.e. dynamic IP addresses, ….)

− Single inverter commissioning via Wi-Fi / AME by anyWLAN enabled device

− Installer App for plant commissioning coming soon

− Possibility to commission all the inverters by stayingconnected to the Ethernet Switch(multicast DNS service needed on the switch)

− Main network info available through a single page of any inverter Web User Interface

What benefits from Ethernet & Wi-Fi communication

New TRIO-TM

July 12, 2017 Slide 24

From serial RS485 to IP based

− Remote monitoring and FW upgrade Ready-to-use just soon as the inverters are turned on

− Standard communication components for easily adapting plant layout to any environment conditions(switch , repeater, wireless sockets,…)

− IP supports many control protocols (TCP/UDP/ RTSP, etc.) and application protocols (HTTP/FTP, ….) for any needs

− IP supports multiple data streams that can be used for data, firmware upgrade, control

− Ip based allows ABB service to better support customer remotely

− Ethernet is much more robust and reliable than serial bus a so much more suitable for implementing remote inverter’s parameters settings over

− No need of manually configuring ports’s address (IP are automaticallyassigned to each ports with or without DHCP service

− No need to install any external logger for enabling remote monitoring

− No suitable standard protocol on RS485 for IoT functionality (IP is becoming the new standard)

What benefits from Modbus Sunspec

New TRIO-TM

July 12, 2017 Slide 25

From Aurora Protocol to Modbus Sunspec

− Aurora Protocol is not :• IT – secure• Reliable• efficient

− Aurora Protocol does not allows implementing advanced monitoring and control system as per modern requirements and regulatory norms (IEC61850, Rule21-Step-2 & 3,….)

− Modbus is an open and standard protocol commonly used in Solar industry

− Sunspec is recognized as standard for Modbus communication protocol in solar market

− Modbus Sunspec allows integrating ABB inverters with most of third party monitoring and control systems available on the market with no need of customizing

− Sunspec is compliant with IEC 61850 as main Industry relevant information model

− Aurora Protocol for back compatibility need only

Remote FW update

− Always possibile even if a third party monitoring and control solution isused

− Allow ABB Service to drastically reduce expenses for on-site visit

− New features enhancement

− Fast response to dynamic grid requirements

− Remote update capability available for components
