We will still operate: The one way systems for dropping off 8:55-9:05am and collecting 3:15-3:25pm; There will still be zones in the playground for classes for break time and lunchtime; Hand washing, hygiene and bathrooms will operate as they do now; There will be no assemblies and large gatherings (worship will be virtual or in class); We will operate breakfast club but ask parents to only use it if absolutely necessary; There will be no after school clubs for the time being. Social distancing between the children will be minimal in their bubbles, however adults across the school will try hard to maintain distance as best they can. If there is an outbreak of COVID-19 (more than two cases) the track and trace team will be notified and they will advise us what to do. This could be plan D - lockdown of a class, several classes, the school or cluster of schools.

It’s Plan C... all back to school in SeptemberFollowing the Education Minister’s announcement last Thursday, we can now finalise our plans for the compulsory return of the children to school in

September. This is great news and we are very much looking forward to welcoming all back in bubbles of 30.

Obviously safety is still our primary concern and things will still look a little different, however, this is a step to getting back to normal as best we can.

We are planning two preparation days on Tuesday 1st and Wednesday 2nd September. The children in years one to six will return on Thursday 3rd

September.

The new Reception children will return as planned in bubbles of eight Monday 7th - 10th September. They have different times start and finish times to allow

them to settle and give parents time for questions with the class teacher. They have been sent their days and will then all be in school from Monday 14th

September, as a bubble of 30.

We will still operate:

• The one way systems for dropping off 8:55-9:05am and collecting 3:15-3:25pm;

• There will still be zones in the playground for classes for break time and lunchtime;

• Hand washing, hygiene and bathrooms will operate as they do now;

• There will be no assemblies and large gatherings (worship will be virtual or in class);

• We will operate breakfast club but ask parents to only use it if absolutely necessary;

• There will be no after school clubs for the time being.

Social distancing between the children will be minimal in their bubbles, however adults across the school will try hard to maintain distance as best they can.

If there is an outbreak of COVID-19 (more than two cases) the track and trace team will be notified and they will advise us what to do. This could be plan D -

lockdown of a class, several classes, the school or cluster of schools.

Learning and teaching as we start next year…Children can bring in sandwiches to eat in their classrooms or opt for a hot meal, paid using ParentPay. There will be two sittings for lunch to reduce numbers in the

main hall. Children will be sat with their year group.

We intend to keep the blended learning going by using Hwb to set a home task each week. Children will need to be able to upload work and check their Hwb emails.

It is very important that as we move forward that all children have access to a computer with a key board. We will be looking into schemes to assist parents to

purchase equipment during the autumn term. This will ensure we keep our IT skills up to date and available just in case we have to return to a home learning model.

Please be assured we will put the safety of your children and the safety of staff first. We will continue to monitor the coronavirus situation and listen to advice from

experts.

Once again, thank you for your continued support. The community of Cogan has been amazing, working with us to do our absolute best for our children under very

difficult circumstances.

I can’t wait to be reunited once again with all our families. Wishing you all a restful summer- see you on Thursday 3rd September.

Best wishes,

S M Sibert

Please see this list below of must dos:

o Make sure you have an electronic device (computer) with a keyboard and access to the internet- if not please contact Mrs Psarelis

o All know how to log on to Hwb and access your emails through Hwb – each child should be doing this already and know their passwords (new children will be

added to the system and classes moved on for September)

o Know how to and upload work when requested to do so by teachers

o Be prepared for teaching in school and some independent home tasks, parent assisted- this will be expected from September for all

o Teachers will teach a full curriculum, however, well-being will be an ongoing strong focus

o Teachers will answer queries and respond to work, but please be mindful that they are teaching as well and observe school hours, for example 9am-4pm. (Not

weekends).
