Walton County Schools are back in session. Classes at The Tree House Episcopal Montessori School begin next week. Football season is just weeks away. The crowds around 30-A are dissipating. That can only mean one thing – summer is drawing to a close, and it’s time to get back into our “normal” routines so to speak. But getting back into the groove can be difficult. It’s still hot. We’re not finished with our summer reading. And routines can be difficult to re-establish. So in the same way that many of us need a cup (or more) of coffee to rally in the morning, we need a rally to get us back in the swing of things with school…and with church. So this Sunday we are having Rally Day at Christ the King. The purpose of this is twofold: to build community through fellowship and fun and to get us excited about being back in church for the 2015-2016 program year.

A Message from Fr. Richard

It’s Rally Time!Walton County Schools are back in session. Classes at The Tree House EpiscopalMontessori School begin next week. Football season is just weeks away. The crowdsaround 30-A are dissipating. That can only mean one thing – summer is drawing to aclose, and it’s time to get back into our “normal” routines so to speak.

But getting back into the groove can be difficult. It’s still hot. We’re not finished withour summer reading. And routines can be difficult to re-establish. So in the same way that many of us need a cup (or more) of coffee to rally in themorning, we need a rally to get us back in the swing of things with school…and withchurch. So this Sunday we are having Rally Day at Christ the King. The purpose of this istwofold: to build community through fellowship and fun and to get us excited aboutbeing back in church for the 2015-2016 program year.

One of the best ways to get back into the groove with church is to make acommitment to participate in a Sunday morning Christian Education class. Beginningthis Sunday, I will be leading the Covenant Class, which will serve as the YoungAdult class as well as the Confirmation/Newcomer’s/Inquirer’s Class. Parents ofyoung children are encouraged to bring the whole family to Christ the King, knowingthat there will be offerings for the parents and the children. The Adult Forum (facilitated by John Boden) will resume on September 13, and theMonday Women’s Bible Study will resume on September 14. Please plan to wear casual, comfortable clothes to church this Sunday because theparty we are having afterwards will be an outdoor picnic with BBQ, live Bluegrassmusic, and an inflatable water slide and bouncy tent for the children. There will alsobe a dunking booth! Parents, encourage your children to wear their bathing suits. I look forward to seeing y’all Sunday!
