ITD provide students with computing, print, email and internet facilities Personal Computers are located in rooms
across campus giving access to MS Office
2010 and Internet Explorer together with
general-purpose and course-specific
software programs.
Wi-Fi is also widely available allowing
students to use personal laptops, tablets
and smartphones

ITD runs USB memory stick Repair Clinics
every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in
the Library PC Area 2.30pm – 3.30pm
Students with any problems related to using the
equipment should go to one of the Computer
Laboratory Attendants located in the ITD managed
student PC Rooms. Computer Laboratory Attendants
work Mon - Fri 9.00am - 10.15pm during semesters.
If you have problems with your University student
record, including personal information, grant record,
pin number, module registration, exam results or
viewing transcripts Email: [email protected]. Staff in this de-
partment will assist. They will also reset failing PIN
numbers to the default PIN of 9999.

How to Login to Microsoft Outlook Live
Go to https://outlook.com/owa In the Microsoft Account box, type your email address: [email protected], [email protected] Your Password is your personalised network account password. When you login, follow the onscreen instructions. Or click on the ‘My Mail’ link on the Student Portal web screen displayed at logon. New Students are required to change their initial UL computer account password (Date of Birth) to their own personalised password before logging into their Outlook Live mailbox. Self-Service Password Registration
Once you have changed your initial (Date of Birth) password, register NOW at https://passwordregistration.ul.ie so you can reset your password, if you forget it, on or off campus. Log on with your ID in the format ul\youridnumber and answer at least 3 of 5 questions. If you forget your password you can reset it by answering the same questions at https://passwordreset.ul.ie.
Here’s how to log on to a PC for the first time if you did NOT personalise your Password on line after Enrolment. After you have logged on with your date of birth
you are automatically required to enter your own
personalised password and re-enter it to confirm. All new and changed passwords must meet the following
requirements: They must be at least eight characters long. They cannot contain the username or part of the
username.
They must use three of the four following types of
characters: Upper case letters (A-Z) Lower case letters (a-z)
Numbers (0-9) Special characters e.g. @, %, &, #)
For example: N3wP4ssW*rd.
You cannot reuse any of your last 10 passwords.
NB: Passwords not changed within 365 days expire.
Register NOW at https://passwordregistration.ul.ie.
ITD also has ‘Swipe’ PCs in different buildings to facilitate
the resetting of forgotten passwords. See onscreen
instructions.
Files & Data: Students can work on their files in the C:\WorkArea of PCs (recommended). NB: There is no backup / storage facility on PCs. All files are deleted during nightly shutdown of systems. Students are advised to save their work every 15 minutes. Prior to logging off from a PC, SAVE all your files to a USB
key. Always make sure that you have a backup of all your files
on a second USB key. Students can email their saved documents as attachments
to their email accounts. Microsoft Outlook Live Email gives automatic access to 25GB of storage in Sky Drive.

off one page to establish your print account in system. Q. How do I put funds into my UL Student Print Account? A. (1) Go to the Print Room (E1-005) in the Main Building
during Opening Hours 9.00am - 5.00pm Mon. – Fri. or
(2) Go on line using Online Print Payment system. A
minimum of €10 is required for each transaction using this

Q. How do I add a printer? A. Start, Run and Type \\payprint64, Click OK and Double
