    The Auburn Chamber

    of Commerce is

    preparing for our

    upcoming Annual

    Banquet, scheduled for

    Monday, October 16 th

    at Arbor Manor. This

    year the nights

    festivities will be

    centered around the

    theme of "The Past,

    Present, and Future".

    The cost to attend the

    Banquet will be $20 per

    plate. We will once

    again be offering our

    'Buy One Meal and Get

    One Meal Free' special

    promotion until

    October 1st. There is a

    strict limit of one

    BOGO special per

    business, and

    October is just around

    the corner and that

    means Spookfest is

    quickly approaching.

    Tuesday, October 31 st

    has been set to hold

    this year's festivities.

    Downtown Trick -or-

    Treating will take

    place from 4 -5 pm and

    then action will move

    to the Crestview dis-

    trict at 5 p.m. as it has

    been in the past. All

    details are still being fi-

    nalized but we will in-

    deed be having our popu-

    lar Costume Contest and

    therefore will need to

    some fun gifts to give as

    prizes. These gifts can

    be brought to the Cham-

    ber Office at any time or

    ask City Hall to give

    them to Tonia if she's not

    there. Please have them

    marked who they are

    from and identify that

    it's for Spookfest. If

  • Who is ready for some football? The

    Auburn State Theater will be

    showing the Nebraska football

    games again this season on the

    biggest screen in town! The

    Nebraska Cornhuskers will open

    their season against Arkansas Sate

    on Saturday, September 2. Doors

    open one hour before kickoff which

    is at 7:00pm!

    Be sure to show up hungry as there

    will be extra concessions available!

    Huskers in this family friendly

    venue and join in on some good fun,

    door prizes and you just may catch a

    hot dog! Auburn State Theater is

    GoooBigggReddd - loud and proud!

    Admission is Free thanks to Auburn

    State Bank for sponsoring this

    season and each time Nebraska

    scores a touchdown or field goal

    there will be a drawing for Two

    Adult Show Passes. So grab your

    husker gear and get your seat at the

    Auburn State Theater to cheer on

    those Cornhuskers!!!

    Lifetime Vision Center is

    excited to invite you to

    participate in their 5th

    Annual World Sight Day

    5K on Saturday,

    September 9th!

    Registration is at 7:30 am

    and the 5K will begin at 8

    am in the Auburn High

    School parking lot.

    The entry fee is $20 per

    person (group rates

    available) and you get a

    really cool free shirt!

    Entries after today,

    September 1st will be

    subject to a $5 late entry

    fee and no guarantee of a

    shirt).

    Proceeds from this race will

    benefit Optometry Giving

    Sight, an organization that

    provides funding for eye

    care services for the blind

    or visually impaired who

    exam or glasses.

    The Artist reception will be held on Thursday, September 7th from 4pm -6pm with the gallery talk taking place at

    5pm.
