About Nims University
thIt gives me immense pleasure and honour to invite you to the 4 Annual
National Conference of Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF) chapter of Indian
Academy of Pediatrics and International Workshop on Paediatric Nutrition and th th Drug Safety in Jaipur from 5 -7 December 2014. Keeping in line with the
tradition of conferences in Jaipur, we would like to bring forth a conference with
the highest scientific temperament and academics.
The impact of optimal young infant feeding on child survival is a well
known fact but unfortunately, our health statistics concerned with
complementary feeding are not very encouraging. There is, therefore a need for
all of us to focus on this aspect. The Aim is to creat awarneness amongst
Pediatricians, nutritionists, health care personnel and other stake holders
concerned with child health on optimal young infant and child feeding. It is for the
benifit for all, that Rajasthan Medical Council has approved accreditation for this
conference and has awarded Six Credit Hours for the attending delegates.
It is expected that nearly 500 delegates from various medical colleges,
hospitals, pediatric care clinics, Nurising colleges and Nutrition Institutes of India
and abroad shall be attending this conference.
There will be a galaxy of renowned national and international faculties to
enlighten us with their presentations. Your proactive participation shall go a long
way in making this national event a grand success.
On behalf of the Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF) chapter of the
Indian Academy of Pediatrics , it is my pleasure to invite you to the Pink City,
Jaipur.
A warm reception is awaiting you. I assure an academically beneficial and
socially enriching experience during your stay.

Important Places to Visit in CityHawa Mahal: The poet King Sawai Pratap Singh built this palace of winds. This is easily the most well-
known landmarks of Jaipur and is also its icon. Located in the City Palace complex, it is best viewed from
the road outside. This five-storey building overlooking the busy bazaar street is a fascinating example of
Rajput architecture and artistry with its delicately honeycombed 953 pink sandstone windows known as
'Jharokhas'. It was originally built for the ladies of the royal household to watch everyday life and
City Palace: Located in the heart of the walled city, the City Palace Complex gives you an idea about the farsightedness of the founder of Jaipur Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh. He left behind a legacy of some of the most imposing and magnificent architecture in the city. Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh built many buildings but some of the structures were also built by later rulers. The palace is a blend of Mughal and Rajput architecture and the ex-royal family still lives in a part of the palace.
Jantar Mantar: There are plenty of observatories all over the world, but the Jantar Mantar is considered to be one of the largest observatories ever built. The Jantar Mantar in Jaipur is considered to be the largest of the five observatories and also houses the world's largest sundial. The Universe and the Cosmos have always been of interest to man, and it was this interest that compelled the Maharaja to build an astronomical observatory. The Jantar Mantar houses various architectural and astrological instruments that have caught the interests of astronomers, historians and architects around the world.
Jal Mahal: Many mysteries continue to surround the pleasure palace of Jal Mahal. It is known to be about 300 years old, but its precise date of construction remains undiscovered. Eminent historians Vibhuti Sachdev and Giles Tillotson write in Building Jaipur: The making of an Indian City, 'Though sometimes dated as late as 1775, it is likely that this was constructed by Sawai Jai Singh II, around 1734.' . But little else is known about this palace with no chambers - just a pavilion with a terrace garden, built in the Rajasthani tradition of 'island resorts' or 'water palaces' where royal families would seek their 'pleasure'.
Amber Fort: Amer Palace also spelled and pronounced as Amber is located in Amer (a town with an area
of 4 square kilometres (1.5 sq mi), 11 kilometres (6.8 mi) from Jaipur, Rajasthan state, India. It is the
principal tourist attractions in the Jaipur area, located high on a hill. Amer Fort was built by Raja Man
Singh I. Amer Fort is known for its artistic style of Hindu elements. With its large ramparts, series of gates
and cobbled paths, the fort overlooks the Maota Lake, at its forefront.
Ishwar Lat: Ishwar Lat or Swarg Suli or Heaven piercing minaret is the 60 ft highest building of wall in the Tripoli Bazaar of Jaipur. Sawai Ishwari Singh built it in 1749 A.D to commemorate a grand victory against his brother Madho Singh in Bagru war. Ishwar Lat is famous as it offers one of the most breathtaking views of the Jaipur city. The sole purpose of Ishwari Lat creation was tthe love of Maharaja Ishwari Singh for the beautiful daughter of Prime Minister argobind Natani. Maharaja look at daughter who livwed in a haveli opposite to Swarg Suli, since protocol did not allow him to go inside her house
Science Park: The department of Science & Technology has developed a unique Science Park in Shastri Nagar, Jaipur, Rajasthan, India in an area of 3.14 acres. This park aims at imparting scientific temper amongst masses in general students in particular by providing a practical approach and direct involvement in the learning process. The park propagates scientific and technical awareness in society to learn while playing (Khel Khel Mein Vigyan).
Albert Hall: When the foundation stone of Albert Hall was laid during the visit of the Prince of Wales, Albert Edward to Jaipur in 1876, it had yet to be determined what use it would be put to. There were some suggestions about cultural or educational use or as a town hall. However in 1880 Maharaja Sawai Madho Singh II approved a suggestion by Dr. Thomas Holbein Hendley, Resident Surgeon to open a museum of Industrial Arts to display products of local craftsmen. A small museum was created in 1881 in temporary accommodation and proved most popular.
Jaipur, popularly known as Pink City, was founded in 1727 AD by one of the greatest rulers of the Kachhawaha clan, the astronomer, King Sawai Jai Singh. The pink color was used at the time of making to create an impression of red sandstone buildings of Mughal cities - and repainted in 1876, during the visit of the Prince of Wales. The capital of the desert state of Rajasthan, Jaipur has hot and scorching summers and cool winters, which are pleasant. The mercury rises to as high as 45 °C in summers, when the minimum temperature is 25.8 °C. However, nights can be cold and temperature can be as low as 8.3 °C. Monsoons are not much of a problem in Jaipur, so one can visit the city from anytime between September to March. In December, during the conference, light woolen clothes will be required as it will be a cold pleasant period.
