On January 7 th at our monthly church conference the church will vote on two new policies dealing with a code of conduct and conflict resolution After our last town hall and discussion it was felt that these policies reflect how as believers and members of Faith Fellowship we want to conduct our lives, be a witness and handle conflicts in a way that would bring honor and glory to God. Monthly Church Conference Sunday, January 28th following morning worship

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you,” declares the Lord... Jeremiah 10:11-14a

2017 was a very busy year of determining to commit to the Intentional Interim Process, seeking and calling an Interim Pastor, following Brother Bobby’s leadership through the Process and beginning the search for a pastor. Many have grown weary, some impatient and all ready to move forward and find the one God is preparing for us. However, God has used this time to prepare us for the plans He has for us. As impatient as we are, we need to trust Him and be faithful. Our job is to call on Him, pray to Him, and seek Him.

2018 has begun and with it the possibility of many new and exciting opportunities for Faith Fellowship Baptist Church as we seek God. On January 7th at our monthly church conference the church will vote on two new policies dealing with a code of conduct and conflict resolution After our last town hall and discussion it was felt that these policies reflect how as believers and members of Faith Fellowship we want to conduct our lives, be a witness and handle conflicts in a way that would bring honor and glory to God. If you haven’t received a copy of these policies, they are available for you to pick up on the foyer table.

The deacons will be meeting early in January to review the concept designs for the next phase of facilities expansion as well as a site plan. The Phase 1 concept/design deals with the expanding

our current worship space. Note: This is not a proposal to start building now. It is a concept of where and how we as a church would like to start building when the time is right. In keeping with recent tragic events the deacons are also working on a plan to deal with the safety and security of our church and all in attendance whenever the doors are open. The annual Everybody’s Birthday Celebration usually held the last Sunday in January has been moved to February 11, 2018 and will be combined with a 19th Anniversary Celebration Luncheon.

The Transition Team will be meeting with Karl Fickling and Brother Bobby to wrap up the Transition Process in the near future. The Connections, Leadership, Missions, History and Future topics that we have intentionally worked through will provide the church profile information that will be shared with prospective pastors. This information will help them determine if this is where God is leading them to serve and if we are the people they feel called to pastor.

Pastor Search - The deadline for accepting resumes is January 5th. Based off of the resumes and references, the committee to date has eliminated some from consideration and asked others for sermons and personal references. There is still a lot of work, study, conversations, research and prayer ahead. Now more than ever we need the church family to be praying for us that we would recognize the man God is preparing to be our pastor.

FFBC Kids The Children's Mission had a great December. On the 17th, we sang Special Music during service,  Christmas is Here and Heaven  Everywhere. On the 20th, we made no bake cookies, Deer Poop, Snowmen and Cocoa. We went caroling at Crawford Place and Grayson Place, handed out Christmas cards, and cookies. We all had a great time. We will be having the Rock-a-Thon on December 30th. We will have more information soon.  The Wednesday Children's Mission team will be using new material starting in January called Team Track. Hope you had a great Christmas and Happy New Year.

Student Ministry News This month during the Upper Room bible study students will be finishing up a series on Hope, and beginning a new series, Gospel. Throughout 2018, many of our events will focus on missions, so we plan to start the year off making sure our students are ready to share the good news at every opportunity possible. For Family Worship this month we will be going on a field trip to the Dallas Museum of Art. We have several students taking art classes currently and have been asking to go for quite some time. We will meet at the church at 2pm then head down to Dallas together. After we leave the museum, we will stop at a Steak-n-Shake and have dinner together. Many of their meal choices are $4+tax, so be sure to bring some food money.

7th @ 2pm - Family Worship Field trip to the DMA

Other Stuff We have a new church app! You can download it for apple or android devices. Just go to your usual app store and search for “My Church App”. Once you install the app you will be prompted to search for our church. Please type our name in full “Faith Fellowship Baptist Church”. If you have any problems, please let Stephanie know and she will help to get you set up. Also, we will have students available during Everybody’s Birthday to help anyone who still needs help installing it on their phone. This new app will help us to be able to always know what events are coming up in all the different departments and it will allow you to quickly share events to your friends through text messaging and social media.
