JA Primary School Programme JA Grenada is excited about its new partnership with the Sandals Foundation, which allowed for the reintro-duction of programmes in over 20 primary schools throughout the state of Grenada. Approximately 3000 Students from kindergarten to grade 6 will benefit at no cost to the students or institution. Each JA pro-gramme is professionally designed and age-appropriate to meet the need of the student. JA’s inter-active sessions will give these students the opportu-nity to practice cooperation, teamwork, decision-making, and leadership skills through numerous learn-ing activities. Primary school teachers and Sandals LaSource staff were elated to receive training prior to implementation of the invaluable lessons. Training sessions were held in November 2017 and January 2018.

Volunteers from the business community shared their ex-

perience and knowledge with JA Company Programme

executives at the Leadership Training Seminar held on

October 17, 2017. Presentations were made on the vari-

ous departments in a business; the roles, challenges and

importance of each department. The business volun-

teers helped the students understand their responsibili-

ties as leaders and the mechanics of business operation.

This business seminar prepared the students to run their

JA Companies effectively. The Grenada Investment &

Development Corporation (GIDC) concurrently con-

ducted a business development workshop for the JA

teachers.

Wesley Simon, JA President of the Year 2016/2017 gave

an exceptional motivational speech to the new JA lead-

ers. “It can be very challenging at times balancing school

work and running a business however, if you learn to

delegate task and manage time effectively, it will be

easy” said Wesley as he shared his experience as a

President of Crate Creations. The JA team took the op-

portunity to congratulate Wesley as the recipient of the

Ameena Caesar Award 2016-2017. He was presented

with a cheque to cover payment for five (5) CXC sub-

jects. We say “thank you” to Ameena (JA Alumna) for this

annual contribution to youth development.
