Goals

Since Jacksonville State University is considered very far behind on numbers, the

goal is to increase the number of women going through Recruitment by 10 percent each year. The will keep going until 50 percent of women attending school at JSU in the Fall for the first

time go through Formal Recruitment.

Objectives

In order to achieve a higher number of women going through formal recruitment, we must get more women

interested and informing them of what sororities are, the benefits of joining an organization and also the long term benefits of what going greek can offer you. We will plan

on keeping records of women interested and what sparked girl’s interest and also why some would never

join a sorority. That way, we can know what made some women more interested so we can persuade people and

also what to say to those that are not interested to change their mind.

Audience

The audience to increase the number of women going through recruitment would be high school senior women, women that are a

sophomore in college, transfer students and also guidance counselors at high schools.

By targeting senior girls in high school, sophomore women currently enrolled in college, and transfer students, we could increase

numbers by sparking their interest with getting to know more people on campus and making the transition from college to high school

easier. We also will encourage her that getting involved will help her get her name out and also get involved with other activities.

By targeting guidance counselors, they can also encourage greek life to students when they need help deciding where to go to school. That way, even if the student has not already heard about joining a

sorority when in college, she will know the advantages from a reliable source.

Strategies and Tactics

Key publics included in this plan would be mainly high school senior women. The main work that would be performed would be sending information out to every female that applied and was also accepted to Jacksonville State University. Most of the time and energy would be spent finding statistics on amount of philanthropy raised, famous greeks and other important statistics that are relevant to a positive

image of greek life. The goal will be to increase the number of women going through recruitment each year by 10 percent until a total of 50 percent of women enrolled go through recruitment. The campaign will take place one year prior to recruitment for the next

year and the head of greek life at Jacksonville State University, Eddie-Banks Crosson will oversee the progress of this campaign. The money for this plan will come for the rise of the application fee

from 40 dollars to 60 dollars.

Page 15: Jacksonville State University Panhellenic Council Meredith Harvey

Calendar

•1 Month Prior to Formal Recruitment- Every member both on panhellenic executive and Recruitment Counselors will make follow up calls with girls already signed up for recruitment to answer last minute questions and also with girls that have shown some interest in the greek system as a whole

As a whole, this plan should increase numbers. By starting to gain interest early, numbers of women planning on going through formal recruitment will rise and the girls signed up will maintain an interest in Greek Life and hopefully encourage others to go through. The main thing to get females interested is just to inform them of all the positive attributes that joining a greek organization can give you.

Evaluation

All the goals, objectives and strategies should create a substantial growth if executed correctly. The number of women going through formal recruitment will increase by 10 percent every year for four years until 50 percent of freshman women that are going to Jacksonville State University in the Fall semester go through formal recruitment. Records will be kept to view the progress and highlight the positives and negatives of each year to see what needs to be worked on for the upcoming year.
