DESCRIPTION
The Jacksonville Teacher Residency is the flagship urban teacher residency program in the state of Florida. It prepares STEM graduates to teach science and mathematics in urban high-needs middle and high schools in Duval County. It is unique to other teacher preparation programs because it provides residents with a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction while completing a one-year teaching apprenticeship with a master teacher. The result: passionate math and science teachers equipped to navigate the unique complexities of teaching in urban schools. Qualified applicants will…
• Have a degree in a STEM discipline • Have a GPA of 3.0 or higher in the
last 60 hours of undergraduate study • Be passionate about teaching and
learning
Note: Those with professional teaching certificates do not qualify.
