Also we have to have a open heart and a sober mind, otherwise we will not see or hear and will not understand what He wants us to see and to know and to understand. We must not come with the mindset that we already know, we will never stopping learning until the last day that The Most High shall take out His spirit from this fleshly body.We are living in a world that only exist of religions with their traditions and all mixed with a little of His truth, but this is still not His Truth. We know by reading/studying the Word/scriptures that the Almighty wants totally obedience, we have to love Him with our whole heart, with our whole being, with our whole mind and with our whole strength, Deuteronomy 6:4-5. And we have to seek Him with all of our hearts There is no half this or half of that, it is all! The Messiah showed us this in the flesh, His example, let us follow it. That is why He is the Way, the Truth and the Life that and only through Him we can come to His Heavenly Father. We also know that The Messiah came to fulfill the law, Matthew 5:17-18(Deuteronomy 18:15-19). Why did He had to come? We know also that the children Israel broke the covenant that they had made with The Most High. And what was the curse of breaking the covenant? On the other hand, we will wade through numerous works that stray from the truth of God's word, although they appear to be authoritative to those who have not searched the scriptures. A couple of examples are as follows: ". . . the New Testament never even implies that Christians are to worship on the Sabbath. Instead it is clear that Sunday replaced the Sabbath as the Christians day of worship. . ." ("735 Baffling Bible Questions Answered", p. 63). "Sunday is not a sabbath, but the first day of the week, and belongs to the new age of grace which followed the death and resurrection of Christ. Legalistic Sabbath keeping is to go back to the age previous to the rent vail (Mt 27:51). "("The New Ungers Bible Hand Book", p. 83).Just as we find truth and error sharing the same stage in our Sabbath/Sunday research, a similar pattern began to emerge as I began to study reference materials that focused in on a sunset to sunset Sabbath. I found an astonishing quote that spurred me on to more research:"The day was either the PERIOD OF SUNLIGHT, CONTRASTED WITH THE NIGHT (see John 11:9) or the whole period of twenty four hours, ALTHOUGH NOT DEFINED AS SUCH IN THE BIBLE." ("Oxford Companion to the Bible", p. 744). I read it again and again. A 24 HOUR DAY IS NOT DEFINED IN THE BIBLE. This agreed with my study of the scriptures.Compare the two definitions above. Notice how they both agree that a day was the PERIOD OF DAYLIGHT/SUNLIGHT AS OPPOSED TO NIGHT-TIME. Just as God tells us in Genesis 1:5 when He calls the LIGHT DAY. The very next thing that God says in Genesis 1:5 is, ". . . and the DARKNESS he called NIGHT. . ." Please notice that God does not call the DARKNESS DAY as man does. He simply calls the DARKNESS NIGHT. One reason is because day and night in scripture are two completely different seasons. They are not the same: "Thus saith the Lord: If you can break my covenant of the DAY, and my covenant of the NIGHT, and that there should not be DAY and NIGHT in their SEASON;" (Jeremiah 33:20). Genesis 8:22 shows us a number of words that are opposed to each other in meaning: "While the earth remaineth, SEEDTIME and HARVEST, and COLD and HEAT, and SUMMER and WINTER, and DAY and NIGHT shall not cease." DAY and NIGHT are listed along side the other seasons. Speaking of the word "DAY", "The Jewish Encyclopedia" calls it ". . . the SEASON of LIGHT . . ." (p. 475).The two sources above differ when it comes to the second half of the definition, in that the "Encyclopedia of Jewish Religion" states that a day can be 24 hours in length, reckoned from EVENING TO EVENING. This is stated as a matter of fact with no further explanation. Many reference books will give the same definition with nothing to back it up. If scriptures are given, they will normally cite Genesis 1:5, ". . .And the evening and the morning were the first day. . ." (which we will cover), Leviticus 23:32, ". . . from even unto even, shall ye celebrate your sabbath . . .", (which we will cover), or a text that tries to force the two seasons of day and night into one 24 hour day. We will see that these texts do not prove a 24 hour day any more than 1 Corinthians 16:2 proves a change from Sabbath to Sunday. On the other hand, the "Oxford Companion to the Bible" not only tells us that a 24 hour day is NOT defined in the Bible, it goes on to tell us how Jesus defines a day by referring us to John 11:9.

HOW DOES GOD DEFINE A DAY IN THE NEW TESTAMENT? (JOHN 11:9) "Jesus answered. Are there not TWELVE HOURS IN THE DAY? If any man walk in the DAY, he stumbleth not, because he seeth the LIGHT of this world. But if a man walk in the NIGHT, he stumbleth, because there is NO LIGHT in him." (John 11:9)." Here, Jesus confirms the fact that LIGHT and DAY are married, and that NIGHT and NO LIGHT (Darkness) belong in a separate category, as Genesis 1:4 indicates: ". . . and God DIVIDED the LIGHT from the DARKNESS. . ." In addition, Jesus makes it clear that there is ONLY 12 HOURS in a DAY. NOWHERE in the scriptures does Jesus or anyone else (including His enemies) state that there is 24 hours in a day. As I previously mentioned an hour was not 60 minutes. ". . . an hour is one-twelfth of the period of daylight: "Are there not TWELVE HOURS IN THE DAY?" (John 11:9) ("The New Bible Dictionary", p. 495). In the same dictionary, under the word "Twelve" we read, ".. . The Hebrew year was divided into 12 months, the DAY into 12 HOURS (John 11:9) . . ." (p. 845).The "Readers Digest A B C's of the Bible" adds: "By the time of Jesus, it was commonplace to divide the DAYTIME into 12 HOURS. The hour, however, was not a fixed unit of time as it is today, but one-twelfth of the period between sunrise and sunset. Thus an hour in summer (which would be about 70 minutes today) was substantially longer than an hour in winter (about 50 minutes today)." (P. 177). Although the word "hour" is used a number of times in the New Testament (and by Jesus Himself), "In ancient Israel the concept of the hour was UNKNOWN. The Israelites divided the DAYTIME into its NATURAL segments: DAWN, "the heat of the day," "the cool of the day," and "EVENING, the time when women go out to draw water." NIGHTTIME was divided into three watches." A Biblical day begins at dawn, at the earliest introduction of light, and ends at dusk, with the complete absence of light. In a consistent pattern, the month begins with the first dawn immediately after the moon begins receiving its earliest light from the sun and ends when the moon is completely void of light at the conjunction. (Just because we cannot see the moon's initial gathering of light does not in any way change the reality that it is taking place. The light of the first visible crescent is only evidence of what began taking place immediately following the moon's conjunction with the sun.)

The New Moon: Chodesh (H2320)

The Hebrew word for "New Moon" is chodesh (H2320), which is also translated as "month." Chodesh appears in Scripture more than 270 times, yet it is not used even once to denote seeing something (i.e. the visible moon, the crescent, etc.). Rather, the Hebrew word signifying the physical, observable moon is yerach (H3391, H3393, & H3394). Yerach is translated 28 times as "moon" and 13 times as "month," but is never used to signify the New Moon. Note: There is a Hebrew word for "crescent" - aharnm (H7720). However, it is used exclusively in connection to heathen idolatry (Judges 8:21 & 26; Isaiah 3:18), and is never associated with the "New Moon" or even the "month." More on this later. Refer to the section below, entitled "Problems with Using the First Visible Crescent ."

Psalm 81:3

"Blow up the trumpet in the new moon, in the time appointed [H3677], on our solemn feast day [H2282]." (Psalm 81:3, KJV)

H3677 (keh'-seh) - Apparently from H3680; properly fulness or the full moon, that is, its festival: - (time) appointed. (Strong's Greek & Hebrew Dictionary)1 H2282 (khag) -This word refers especially to a "feast observed by a pilgrimage." (The New Strong's Expanded Dictionary of Bible Words) Psalm 81:3, then, tells us two things: 1. A trumpet (shofar) was to be sounded at the New Moon. 2. A trumpet (shofar) was to be sounded at the full moon, at the time of a pilgrimage feast. In context, Psalm 81 is talking about Israel's exodus from the land of Egypt. It seems only reasonable to conclude then that the pilgrimage feast being referred to here is the Feast of Unleavened Bread, which begins on the 15th day of the lunar month (on the same day that the children of Israel were led out of Egypt). Some have suggested that Psalm 81:3 is referring to the Feast of Trumpets (New Moon Day) and the Feast of Tabernacles (beginning on the 15th) in the seventh month. This seems unlikely given the context of the entire chapter. However, even this interpretation places the full moon at the end of the second week on the 15th of the month.

There is no way to honestly reconcile this verse with the first visible crescent methodology for reckoning New Moon Day, as the first visible crescent method generally places the full moon on the 13th/14th of the month. Reckoning the day after conjunction as New Moon Day, however, places the full moon on the 14th/15th of the month, which is in harmony with Psalm 81:3. (This is also in harmony with The Writings of Philo. See "The Historical Argument" below.)

Genesis 1

Darkness (an actual segment of time) preceded day one of Creation week. That is to say that the very first day of the very first month in Earth's history was dark; no light preceded this day. Why should we expect subsequent months to be any different? "In the beginning Elohim created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of Elohim moved upon the face of the waters. --- And Elohim said, Let there be light: and there was light." (Genesis 1:1-3, RNKJV)

Ezekiel 46:1 & Nature's Testimony

Ezekiel 46:1 establishes that there are three different types of days: (1) New Moon Days; (2) Work Days; (3) Sabbath Days

Thus says the Master Yahuwah: "The gateway of the inner court that faces toward the east shall be shut the six working days; but on the Sabbath it shall be opened, and on the day of the New Moon it shall be opened." (See Ezekiel 46:1.)

It stands to reason that the different classes of days would be delineated in nature (Creation). When reckoning the dawn after conjunction as the commencement of New Moon Day, we find that each type of day is generally marked by specific moon phases: (1) New Moon Day is preceded by darkness (conjunction); (2) Work days are preceded by the illuminated phases (excluding the quarter phases).1 (3) Sabbath Days are preceded by the quarter phases. Thus, this method makes consistently identifying the Sabbaths by the moon's appearance much easier and more practical. To make a distinction between the darkness and the light the creator separated them, meaning that they will forever hold different periods of time and never overlap. He then sealed His declaration that He separated them when He gave them their names. Day and Night are not synonymous terms, but rather they are opposites. After we came to the conclusion that the calendar that we were following was not correct. It is not The Creator His calendar.
