Understanding that you pay as much attention to materials as we do, Wilsonart Contract Flooring engages in manufacturing

processes that create products you can feel good about in more ways than one. Through the use of recycled materials and

eco-friendly practices, Wilsonart Contract Flooring is able to offer products manufactured in Temple, Texas, that not only

make better-looking spaces, but also provide a more environmentally responsible flooring solution.

Recycled Content/Certified WoodWilsonart Contract Flooring is constructed of an HPL decorative surface, a High Density Fiberboard (HDF) core, and an HPL balancing backer. We use no added formaldehyde, 100% recycled wood content in our HDF core, which is certified by the Composite Panel Association to be an Environmentally Preferred Product. So, instead of ending up in landfills, sawdust from sawmills, wood chips from log processing plants, and planar shavings from wood processing are reclaimed and reused to form the strong internal structure of our flooring. At present, the total recycled content by weight of Wilsonart Contract Flooring is 70%, as independently certified by Scientific Certification Systems (minimum 70% pre-consumer recycled wood fiber, SCS-MC-002029, www.SCScertified.com). Wilsonart Contract Flooring is the first laminate flooring in North America FSC-certified by Scientific Certification Systems (FSC Mixed Sources, SCS-COC-002415).

Indoor Air Quality Awarded GREENGUARD® Indoor Air Quality Certification, Wilsonart Contract Flooring products have minimal impact on the indoor air environment. Ongoing tests assure VOC (volatile organic compounds) levels are well within standards set by WHO, OSHA, the USEPA, and other internationally respected public health organizations. GREENGUARD Certification of Wilsonart Contract Flooring may make it easier to earn LEED® credits toward certification.

In addition to meeting strict GREENGUARD standards, Wilsonart Contract Flooring offers other important benefits associated with hard-surface flooring: it does not harbor dust, dirt or odors, and is easy to maintain with Wilsonart® Laminate Flooring Cleaner, which is 100% biodegradable and VOC-free.

Performance that can stand the pressure.

Compare the results:

DENT TESTINGThe photographs illustrate the differences between hardwood, ceramic, vinyl, Direct Pressure Laminate (DPL), and the High Pressure Laminate (HPL) used to manufacture Wilsonart Contract Flooring. A simulated 14-ounce can (396g) was dropped vertically onto the decorative surfaces of the flooring products from a height of 36 inches (standard countertop height). The flooring was photographed at 10x magnification.

STATIC PRESSURE TESTINGStatic pressure testing was conducted to discern performance differences between hardwood, ceramic, vinyl, Direct Pressure Laminate (DPL), and the High Pressure Laminate (HPL) used to manufacture Wilsonart Contract Flooring. Two-inch square flooring samples were subjected to static loads in accordance with ASTM F 970. Loads of 2,000 PSI were placed on each sample for 24 hours. The samples were then allowed to recover for 24 hours in a room conditioned at 72° Fahrenheit/50% RH before inspection.

Wilsonart Contract Flooring is High Pressure Laminate flooring at its finest and toughest. Manufactured exclusively

by Wilsonart at 1400 PSI of pressure, it features a durable wear layer that is five times thicker than Low Pressure/

Direct Pressure Laminate (DPL) flooring surfaces. As a result, Wilsonart Contract Flooring offers exceptional

performance and durability, developing fewer scuffs, scratches, dents, and dimples. The HPL construction also

results in higher in-carton product integrity, meaning less damage in handling and during installation, which helps

speed installation times and reduces the work slow-downs caused by material issues, saving time and money.

Wilsonart Contract Flooring

advantages at a glance:

• Outstanding wear resistance

• Outstanding static load capacity

• Outstanding impact resistance

• Outstanding design clarity

Unlike DPL, which is manufactured with a significantly thinner wear/decor layer, HPL is stronger and considerably more durable due to its more complex manufacturing process.

Wilsonart Contract Flooring understands that in order to maximize performance, proper installation is essential.

For that reason, we offer an entire installation system consisting of BlueFusion® Adhesive, Wilsonart Commercial

Cushion, as well as Molding and Trim that will enhance the beauty and long-term performance of Wilsonart Contract

Flooring. These products, combined with our double tongue-and-groove Tap-N-Lock™ joint design, create an easy-

to-install system that yields hard-wearing flooring results.

Wilsonart Contract Flooring Installation System

BLUEFUSION ADHESIVERequired in all commercial installations, BlueFusion Adhesive is a premium bonding agent that saves time and energy, requiring no straps or curing time, and offers the following advantages:

• Six times more strength for seams than without glue• Eliminates or minimizes adhesive cleanup issues• Superior Bond Type II PVA Adhesive allows immediate use of the floor• GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Certified• Meets AHA Code 7.28.B5 for Healthcare Applications (refer to Wilsonart Contract Flooring Installation Guide online)

TAP-N-LOCKTap-N-Lock dramatically facilitates floor installation and reduces installation-related costs.

Tap-N-Lock Advantages:• Double tongue-and-groove profile with built-in ledging control helps

minimize overwood for a smooth, level profile• Faster, non-angled installation system makes flooring easier to install

around doorways, tight corners, casework, and under toe kicks• Exclusive wax-oil penetrating seam sealant offers added protection

against moisture

Experience has taught us that the use of commercial-grade adhesives not only makes

for a stronger laminate flooring installation, but a longer-lasting commercial floor. As

such, Wilsonart requires the use of BlueFusion, a Type II PVA adhesive, specifically for

the higher wear demands and larger square footage of commercial installations. This

commercial-grade glue enhances product seam strength in much harsher conditions of

commercial applications. So while some may say glue is unnecessary, we say it’s a vital

element to ensure that your laminate floor meets your high expectations.

Why Use Glue?

As an integral part of the Wilsonart Contract Flooring system, Wilsonart

Commercial Cushion offers a “sound” solution that dramatically reduces

the reflective noise common with laminate flooring, producing a noticeably

quieter sound similar to that experienced with traditional hardwood

flooring. This also helps control through-the-floor sound transmission. The

high-performance underlayment is fortified with an antimicrobial, and has

a superior moisture barrier that is mold, mildew, and odor resistant.
