Bucharest is a city filled with history and culture, but also joyful and entertaining, allowing young people to socialize and get in touch with the latest news. If you decide to have a weekend city-break in Bucharest, you should know that there are many places to head to. The Old Historical Center of Bucharest is the place that gives you the chance to taste Bucharest’s old flavor. Perhaps the city's unique charm can be best observed in the area known as Lipscani. Once a glamorous residential area, the old city centre is now slowly being refashioned into an upscale neighborhood. Don't forget to stop by Hanul cu Tei, which is a rectangular courtyard between Lipscani Street and Blanari Blanari, home to an array of art and antiques shops. Bucharest offers the big opportunities to young and ambitious people to develop their entrepreneurial skills and to improve their professional careers. More and more organization encourage creativity and innovation among students.
Bucharest will definitely exceed your expectation!
What you need to know about Bucharest...
What you need to know before coming to Romania
• your Euro is not accepted here, you’ll need to exchange them to RON (currency 1 euro=4.3 RON) • Romanians are very friendly and cook amazingly, so bring loose clothes with you • We know both how to be committed to our work, but also to party, so come with your energy at
full capacity • Buses never come on time and there isn’t a schedule for their arrival • It is better to use public transportation than cabs, when available (subways and buses work from
4.30 AM to 11.30 PM) • Emergency number: 112 (more info here: http://www.112.ro/index.php?limba=en) • In clubs you might experience the phenomenon of “Pitzipoanca” and “Cocalarus” (for more
information, feel free to ask the organzing team)
Did you know these about Romania...
• Voronet Monastery, located in northeastern Romania, is also known as the ‘Sistine Chapel of the East’?
• Romania has the second largest underground glacier in Europe (in terms of volume)? • The city of Brasov (Transylvania) is home to the largest gothic church between Vienna and
Istanbul? • Romania has the second-largest outdoor museum in the world? • The movie Cold Mountain was filmed on location in Romania? • The Romanian city of Timisoara was the first in Europe to have electric street-lighting? • Universal literature found valuable sources of inspiration in Romania's
castles? • The story of Dracula comes from Transylvania? • Romania features the youngest continental land (Danube Delta) in Europe?
