• Who is JAFCO? We are a preferred supplier and specialized distributor to the food management trade. Very simply, we provide cost-saving product solutions and reduce client acquisition costs. We generally project a 15-20% savings in food acquisition costs to our clients.

• How did we carve out this niche in the food business? John Ferro founded this business in 1987, directly servicing local restaurants, contract feeders, caterers, and schools in the New England market - mostly with opportunity buys, value items, and production overruns. The company grew substantially in the 90’s, and we signed our first national contract with Compass Group in 2003.

• What is our supply profile today? We remain a major supplier of value items, and proprietary items to the contract feeding trade – principally further-processed chicken items. Today, opportunity buys, product overruns, and value items include proprietary & custom-processed products. Increasingly, we are expanding our base of custom-processed items, and menu solutions to meet the specific culinary needs of our clients . None of these products are “distressed” merchandise, and we stand behind every item we supply.

• How do we service the contract and hospitality trade? As a specialized distributor to the food management trade, we are charged with bringing value to these accounts. We consolidate spec & approved items in our forward warehouse in Massachusetts, and we have our own in-house freight company to service all accounts nationally. Our strengths are as follows:

Gourmet Specialty Foods is our sister company and is a wholly owned USDA SQF raw facility. Under SQF we have determined the needs necessary to implement the highest levels of Quality Assurance in supplying large organizations. We do not operate with products that are out of date, have experienced temperature deviations, or are damaged.

SABRE TRANSPORTATIONWith our wholly owned Logistics Organization you can be assured your products will be delivered on time with the best service in our industry. We maintain and monitor all of our trucks to make sure your product gets there on time.

Jafco Foods does not do business with correctional facilities, in fact we are one of the only companies in our industry that has made this determination. We chose this path because we do not want Correctional Quality products to leak into our supply chain. No matter how you slice it, those products will make their way into your supply chain and impact your customer base.
