Aim of the conference
Innovation is of significant importance for any economy irrespective of its stage of development. It is also the
foundation stone, which stimulates competition in the economy and provides the positive vibes for economic
development. However, the question of enhancing innovation in the new and competitive global era is a
concern for the industrialists, academicians, researchers and policy makers. The stress is on how to create
sustainable and resilient businesses and develop innovative spirit in growing economies.
This motivated us to organize a Conference on this burning issue and to bring together policy makers,
academicians, the business community and researchers to interact and share their expertise, experiences,
insights as well as thoughts from research and practice. The other objective of the conference is to take stock
of the status of innovation in growing economies all over the world, learn from each other and share
experiences on a common platform.

Inaugural Session - Day 1 (26th February, 2018)
Light symbolizes “enlightenment”, and enshrines the spiritual urge of wisdom & bliss. The event started with
lightning the lamp by chief guest (Dr. Manoj Kumar Tiwari- Regional Officer and Assistant Director AICTE),
honorable chairman (Mr. Y. M. Gupta), vice chairperson (Mrs. Ritu Gupta), CEO (Dr. J. N. Gupta) and other
dignitaries.
Student volunteers Ms. Syed Sophia and Mr. Shantanu Mishra welcomed the guests and a virtual tour of
Jagran Institute of Management was showcased. Chairman Shri Y.M Gupta, Vice Chairperson Mrs. Ritu
Gupta, Chief guest Dr. Manoj Kumar Tiwari, CEO Jagran Education Foundation Dr. J. N. Gupta and the
Director and Convener of the conference Dr. Divya Chaudhary were requested to take their respective seats
on the dais.
Chief guest Dr. Manoj Kumar Tiwari was felicitated by chairman Shri Y.M Gupta by presenting him a
bouquet. CEO Dr. J. N. Gupta felicitated chairman Shri Y.M Gupta by presenting him a bouquet. Vice
Chairperson Mrs. Ritu Gupta, CEO Dr. J.N Gupta and Director Dr.Divya Chaudhary were also felicitated.
Dr Anil Singh and Dr Nandita Verma, co-conveners of the conference joined the dignitaries on stage for
release of publication of this conference in UGC approved journal special edition. Chairman Shri Y. M. Gupta
welcomed the guests and introduced the audience to the conference theme. Chief Guest, Dr. Manoj Kumar
Tiwari, Regional Officer and Assistant Director, All India Council for Technical Education delivered his
speech. Keynote speaker of the day, Dr. Madeline Berma delivered her presentation on innovation and its
importance.

Technical Session 1 - Day 1 (26th February 2018)

In this session, seven empirical and theoretical papers were presented on Management and Information
Technology. The discussion was based on references to economics, technology & financial growth in various
sectors.
1. Dr. Madeline Berma - "Transforming Malaysia towards a High-Income Economy: Science,
Technology and Innovation Imperatives" - The study spoke about Malaysia becoming an advanced,
developed nation with an economy possessing the characteristics that are common to developed
nations & productivity levels similar to those of other leading Asian economies. Achieving this will
require Malaysia to focus on developing an economy that is more heavily driven by skills, innovation
and knowledge.
2. Mr. Narendra Kumar Sharma - "Impact of Knowledge Management in Business Intelligence and
Decision Support" The presentation highlighted on how information elements are selected and
subsequently feed into organizational actions considered as the most important asset for every
organization. Knowledge management is a system of acquiring, capturing, sharing, storing,
developing, and decisions support system in any organization.
3. Mr. Yash Tiwari - "Innovative Evolution of Indian Business" The study was based on India, which is
a rising economic power and an increasingly important locus of innovation. India is changing from
low-cost contract research and reverse engineering to a global center of high-value generated market.
The presentation had quoted “ecosystems approach” and emphasizes the importance of creating and
improving institutions to the different parts of a nation’s.
4. Mr. Amrit Singhania - "Bitcoin: The complexities and interdependence with the financial
environment of India" The study was based on Bit-coin, the first e-cash system to see widespread
adoption & designed to compete with fiat currencies. Bit-coin proposes it as a crypto-currency
alternative in finance sectors. The presenter also highlighted drawbacks of Bitcoin.
5. Ms. Alankrita Srivastava - "Content writing on modern technologies". The study spoke about modern
technology which is creating a single world culture and simply advancement of old technology. The
word technology brings the meaning the application of scientific knowledge for practical purpose. The
presenter also highlighted how technology helps us in our daily life.
6. Mr. Shantanu Mishra - "An Empirical Study of Young Retail Investors’ Participation and Changing
Investment Outlook in Indian Capital Market” The study showed that as an investor, purchase of
securities by an individual for his or her own personal account rather than for an organization is known
as retail investment. The author also highlighted analysis of investment behavior with reference to
retail investors in Indian capital market.
7. Mr. Usman Ghani-“Financial Fraud in Banking Sector: Issues and Challenges” The study intends to
fulfill the following two approaches – a) to understand and analyze underlying causes contributing to
increasing trend in frauds committed in Indian banking sector and b) to suggest appropriate and
suitable measures that can help the system in identifying these issues.
Technical Session 2 - Day 1 (26th February 2018)

The second technical session was chaired by Er. Deepak Kumar Verma Assistant Professor - UIET, C.S.J.M.
University, Kanpur. Co chaired by Dr Anil Kr. Singh Associate Professor Jagran Institute of Management.
There were total 19 papers out of which 11 paper were presented.
1. Ms. Deep Mala- Presented the paper titled “HRM Practices Leads to the Job Satisfaction of
Employees: A Study of Nepalese Banks” ,in her paper she pointed some of the major factors on HRM
practices that have positive impact on job satisfaction in Nepalese banks.
2. Ms. Arveen Kaur–“Global Swadeshi Product: Patanjali ” Paper presented by Ms Arveen Kaur was a
study on Global swadesi brand : patanjali that focuses on the benefits of Patanjali Products.
3. Mr. Bhairav Nath Jaiswal-“ Performance of Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojna (PMJDY) in different
banks” the paper highlighted different factors in various Indian banks that can be used to measure the
performance of PMJDY.
4. Ms. Anu Jajoo-“Trend And Growth Of Plain Vanilla & Exotic Derivatives In Indian Financial Market”
the paper stated the role of regulation that will help Indian derivative market to build competition and
reputation to sustain fair and orderly financial market.
5. Dr. Nidhi Mathur-“Customer color preferences toward passenger cars” the findings of paper was on
customer color preferences towards Maruti Suzuki cars which can be used by salesman for easily
attracting the customers to increase their sales.
6. Mr. Shyam Kumar S.-“Marketing: An Innovative discipline in the field of conceptualizing a new idea
in Corporate” talked about the innovations that to place in the field of marketing.
7. Ms. Rupanshi Rawat “Online Grocery Shopping” paper contains the study of consumer intentions
during online grocery buying.
8. Ms. Sneh Lata “Winds of Paradigm shift, Waves of growth – with special references to Colgate
toothpaste” paper presented was based on the strategies adopted by Colgate to increase its market
share for toothpaste.
9. Ms. Juhi Singh “Li-Fi - An innovation in Wireless Transmission” this paper was on Light Fidelity(Li-
Fi) which is a wireless technology based on light for transmitting data between devices.
10. Ms. Syed Sophia “Employee Turnover” The last paper was study of workers who leave an organization
and are replaced by new employees.
Technical Session 3 - Day 2 (27th February 2018)

Technical session 3 was chaired by senior professor HBTU, Dr. Narendra Kohli and session was co-chaired
by Dr. Nandita Verma. Total papers scheduled for the session were 22 out of which 12 papers were presented
in the session. Some of them were related to Innovation in Information Technology and others were related
to Management.
1. Mr. Rakesh Rathore presented paper on “Information and communication technology in agriculture
and its management”. He discussed that how the information technologies facilitate in Agricultural
Management.
2. Mr. Shishir Srivastava spoke about “Present condition and growth of small sale industry in India”.
He discussed about the condition and growth of small-scale industry in India.
3. Mr. Anurag Priyadarshi talked on “Government’s role and policies for innovation”. He evaluated
economic condition of different countries depending on government policies.
4. Ms. Ashrita Shukla presented paper on “An exploratory study on government marketing
communication approach to create India as a ‘Global Brand’ in Tourism Sector”. She focused on
Government initiates to increase Tourism in India
5. Mr. Amar Sinha elaborated the topic “A study on how online trends and social media are enhancing
the process of talent acquisition”. He concluded with the empirical research how hiring is improvised
using social media.
6. Ms. Isha Srivastava and Ms. Mamta Verma spoke about “An analytical study of factors causing
stress with special reference to Indian and foreign IT companies”. They both discussed about various
constraints and factors causing stress with reference to Indian and for IT Companies.
7. Ms. Sugandha Soni Chopra talked on “Women empowerment and entrepreneurship in Jammu”. She
discussed about the women empowerment and entrepreneurship in state of Jammu.
8. Ms. Zainab Abbas presented paper on “Role of cloud computing in Educational Sector”. She
discussed the role of cloud computing in educational sector.
9. Mr. Naveen Arora shared his views on “Tata Nano: Failures of a great (?) business idea” Various
aspects behind the failure of Tata Nano were discussed in this presentation.
10. Mr. Himanshu Kushwaha spoke about “Human resource information system [HRIS]: Vital aspect
of technetronic age”.
11. Ms. Somya Gupta talked about “Green financial accounting”. She discussed about the various
aspect of Green financial accounting with reference to industry and government.
12. Ms. Kiran Singh presented paper on “Venture capital financing of SME’s for sustainable
development of India”. She explained various courses of funding SME by including the description of
various categories of venture capital in India.
Technical Session 4 - Day 2 (27th February 2018)

There were 12 presentations in total out of which most of the papers were presented on management and there
were a few on technology.
1. Tripti Haloi - "A study on Entrepreneurial Traits among Urban Women Entrepreneurs of North- East
India" - The study spoke about women in North-East India who are in the service and manufacturing
sectors. The paper focused on the few traits which directly affected the entrepreneurial behavior of
these women while other traits which did not.
2. Shivali Singh - "Dynamics of Indian Consumer Buying Behavior: A study on Organized Retail" The
presentation highlighted the emergence of organized retail with special reference to the Indian context.
The few motivation factors for consumers to buy online and who are their loyal customers.
3. Ruchi Rathi - "Startup Funding Pattern: Opportunities & Challenges in India" The study was based on
primary and secondary data from Indian startup firms belonging to a few metropolitan cities. It focused
on the entrepreneurial challenges in India and why is it unpopular.
4. Nishchint Patni - "Sensory Marketing –A New Way to Approach Customers" The study was based on
how companies are focusing on the five senses as a new way of marketing. The presentation had
quoted a few examples like - McDonalds, Johnson & Johnson and Volkswagon.
5. Suraj S Rao - "A case study on the employee engagement programs in select KPOs of Mysuru City"
The study highlighted the employee engagement programs in two of the KPOs in Mysuru.
6. Ramacharan G - "A case study on the Public Bicycle sharing systems at Mysuru – An initiative for
sustainable growth." The study showed the popularity of Public Bicycle Sharing System. The author
also highlighted his few suggestions and how it is going to benefit the country as a whole.
7. Ms. Rajani Gupta and Mr. Vinay Seth came from two different backgrounds but presented on a similar
topic of "Impact of demonetization on digital marketing innovation" and "Digital transactions in India:
growth and challenges in post-demonetization period"
The session had an enriching experience for the audience.
Valedictory Session - Day 2 (27th February, 2018)
The international conference on innovation in multi disciplines of management and information technology,
is a giant step in the journey of Jagran Institute of Management that began in the year 2006. Our aim during
the conference and through the technical sessions was to gather in conversation the most knowledgeable
experts and researchers on the subject. It helped us to share knowledge, enhance common understandings and
build consensus on possible policy options for meeting the current and future challenges in innovation.
We hope that the intense discussions during various sessions have enriched the deliberations, identified the
threats that need resolution and paved the way for more enlightened progress in the respective areas in future.
The conference theme took into consideration the varied aspects and planned its sessions around the theme of
innovation as a tool for accelerating implementation of sustainable development.

papers in each technical session. These awards are the encouragement and rise in enthusiasm for doing the
best and reaching more great heights that makes us eligible for receiving award every time at this huge
platform of recognition. Best papers in each technical session in category of management and information
technology were awarded with trophies and certificates.
