SITE: Gandhidham, Gujarat project was to built to research & development center with function of Reception, Waiting, Visitors gallery, Laboratories, private laboratories, EPBX & server server room, changing room Auditorium,Library, Canteen, recreational area, Toilets.

Site has very gently contoured land adjoining to the sea, no trees on the site. Area is located on hot and humid climate.so, using the fins on the south facade to get defused light and good ventilation. provided brick jali where big opening has given on the south faade.

Air passes from the surface of water body and getting cool and get inside form the brick jali.

To utilize the trees fully i had to make every tree approachable with the help of terraces. The building has been oriented in such a way that the existing trees help shade the built and unbuilt spaces. The network of the spaces has been designed such that it allows easy distribution of people allover the site.

Passage Using as a Shading element The passage has been used as a shading element for the courtyard during the mid-day sun hours.

Stairs & Ramp The ramp & steps combination helps in reducing circulation as well as provides a choice of using either the ramp or steps or both.

Pergola The pergolas break the direct sunlight coming on the porch while staggering them increases their shading.

PASSAGE

Louvers The louvers break the harsh sun that enter the museum from the courtyards

Exploded View Light Well The Light Well has been introduced to allow natural air and light into the archeological exhibition space, the walls of these well can also be used as an exhibiting surface for environmental exhibition. The two Light Wells have also helped in directing the circulation in the exhibition spaces. Mutual Shading

The building blocks provide shade from the sun to each other during different hours of the day while also covering the narrow passage between them
