INTRODUCING INTECH IBM‟s - JAIN LAW SCHOOL
The practice of law has become increasingly complex, requiring lawyers, solicitors andBarristers to also play the role of advisors, mediators and problem-solvers along withtheir mundane litigations at Law Courts . Concurrent or integrated degree programspermit students to personalize their study of law by adding knowledge, skills andanalytical tools from other disciplines. India is a nation, where technology moves at anever rapid phase and Policymakers have been found to lack technical and correspondinglegal knowledge. It has now become inevitable and Law professionals are also to knowhow digital networks, devices and software operates. The interdisciplinary approach isnow the order of the day to integrate various faculties and law which in combine arerequired to address these newely emerging issues and disuputes. Law today is headingtowards a creative, critical step forward in this 21st century.
Intech Mission is our mother organisation founded way back in 1908 AD as a secret sect, spreading nationalistic ideas during the Indian freedom movement. The media then waspredominantly through the traditional Gurushishya parampara. The evolved entity of theIntech Mission is “The M G M Foundation” which was formally relaunched in 1989 andregistered as a trust in the year 1994. The Trust‟s operating Head Quarters was locatednear Gundanjaneya Temple, Sunkdakatte Village, Bolare Post, and Bangalore 560082. SinceThe MGM Foundation‟s restructuring in 1993-94 , INTECH IBM has become the flagshipInstitution, offering our coveted programmme, Post Graduate Diploma in BusinessManagement (PGDBM) and “Master in Business Administration” . In the 1990‟s ,TheBangalore University and All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) recognized theInstitute as a Post-Graduate center imparting management education.
INTECH IBM group is now a full-fledged multilocational residential Education System,Offering education and vocational training courses in Management, Computer Science,Fine Arts, Performing Arts, Law, Government, Hotel and Tourism and sister institutionoffering courses in Health Sciences and allied areas.
INTECH is a spiritual movement, which looks beyond materialistic aspirations ofcontemporary society. Intech learns, dreams, and richly subscribes itself to classicalthinking of world personalities i.e. Gautama Buddha, Jehovah, Basavanna, Guru Nanak,Thoreau, Mahatma Gandhi, Swami Vivekananda, Babasaheb Ambedkar, Abraham Lincoln,Martin Luther King, Subash Chandra Bose, Jiddu Krishnamurthy, and other worldpersonalities. The higher culture in our day to day activities is a symbiosis of worldPhilosophies and drawings from homely proverbs of the local Karnataka and Indiannational cultures developed over thousands of years. The ideological reflections of thephilosophy of these personalities, is seen as local ethos in all pursuits of the trust andits institutions, endorsing a holistic middle path to life. The „INTECH STUDY” and theLibrary is open to all members of Humanity for short stay on both the Intech Campusesat Mysore and Bangalore for humanities self introspection and self-actualization.
Now, with this collective experience crystallized over 100+ years, the JAIN Law schoolhas been Jubilantly started, as a tribute to commemorate the constitutional Architectsof the two Largest Democracies of the World viz. Thomas Jefferson and Bharata RatnaBabasaheb Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. The acronym JAIN represents these two greatpersonalities, who crafted the constitutions of current day world‟s two greatest modernsuper powers, Republic Of India and the United States of America. The “JAIN LawSchool”- Jefferson- Ambedkar, Intech IBM‟s National Law School”, was established onthe 1st of January ,2015.
The Law school is affiliated to Karnataka State Law University, Hubli and is
recognized by the Government of Karnataka. The traditional LLB course is for 3
years with entry to any graduate. The 5 years course is the B.A., LLB which is for
PUC (12th Class ) completed students . At the time of going to press, the
statutory BCI- Bar Council of India inspection for approval was completed.
We sincerely look forward to students who are socially committed, serious and
intelligent to join our community . The aspiration of our institution is to ;
“Strengthen all the three arms of our Indian state by assisting our worthy
students to successfully infiltrate into the nation‟s Legislature, Judiciary and
Executive, alongside their entry to the International Organisations, NGO‟s,
private and corporate sectors the world over”. This aspiration has been adopted
as the Mission statement of the JAIN Law School.

Lectures: The principal teaching method in the school is the lecture classes. The
vast majority of undergraduate modules involve lecture classes on a daily basis.
Tutorials: The school relies heavily upon the tutorial class in its teaching
programme. You will be assigned to a tutorial class for each module studied. The
group, which is usually made up of no more than eight students, meets on a
fortnightly basis for each module to discuss pre-arranged questions and any other
problems with the tutor.
Seminars : Few of the second and final-year undergraduate optional modules are
taught by the seminar method. This is a method, midway between the tutorial and
the lecture, involving presentations from staff and students which involves
interaction of the whole class.
