UNGODLY

RICH

JESUSRICH OR POOR?

9 For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty

might become rich.

2 CORINTHIANS 8:9

“It doesn’t matter if you are rich or poor, it matters if you

are godly or ungodly.”

The godly poor

will be exalted

JAMES 1:9

9 Let the lowly brotherboast in his exaltation,(RSV)

Boast in the Lord

DON’T GET YOUR IDENTITY FROM THE CULTURE

AROUND YOU

SEE YOURSELF AS THE FATHER SEES YOU

(I’M NOT GREAT, BUT HE IS)

“The most important thing is our identity and

status to our God the Father.” Who are you in

the sight of God.”

The UNGODLY

RICH WILL BE

HUMILIATED

JAMES 1:1010 but the rich in his humiliation, because as a flower of the field hewill pass away.

IDENTITY WE CAN PURCHASE

GETTING OUR IDENTITY THROUGH

CLOTHINGGETTING OUR IDENTITY THROUGH THE

TECHNOLOGY WE OWN

GETTING OUR IDENTITY THROUGH OUR APPEARANCE

YOUR IDENTITY:

BELOVED OF THE FATHER

Read your Bible, study your Bible, pray over your Bible,

memorize your Bible, get in a Faith group and discuss your

Bible.

JAMES 1:11

11 For no sooner has the sunrisen with a burning heat than itwithers the grass; its flower falls, and its beautiful appearanceperishes. So the rich man also willfade away in his pursuits.

3 THINGS JAMES WANTS US TO REMEMBER

he DOES NOT

CHANGE

JAMES 1:17

17 Every good gift and everyperfect gift is from above, andcomes down from the Father oflights, with whom there is novariation or shadow of turning.

Saviour Lesson 4

“GOD NEVER CHNGES”

1. God unchanging nature

provides stability and

permanence. (James 1:17)

2. God’s unchanging purpose

gives us eternal significance.

(Psalms 33:11)

3. God’s unchangeable assure us

of unwavering guidance.

(Psalms 18:30)

4. God’s unchanging Word equips

us in timeless truth. (Isa. 40:11)

5. God’s unchanging commitment

guarantees us everlasting

security. (Heb. 6:17)

HEBREWS 13:8

8 Jesus Christ is the sameyesterday, today, and forever.(NKJV)

WHAT YOU HAVE

WHAT HE’S

GRANTED

JAMES 1:17

17 Every good gift and everyperfect gift is from above, andcomes down from the Father oflights, with whom there is novariation or shadow of turning.

Romans 8:28

28 And we know that all thingswork together for good to thosewho love God, to those who arethe called according to Hispurpose. (NKJV)

HIS GREATEST

GIFT IS PEOPLE

JAMES 1:18

18 Of His own will He brought usforth by the word of truth, that wemight be a kind of first fruits ofHis creatures.

The greatest gift that God gives is people. All the gifts come

down from above. Ultimately, the greatest gift that comes

down from above is Jesus, and the greatest gift that God gives

is people.

GIVE YOUR FIRST FRUIT“God give His Best Fruit, His only

Son – Jesus Christ”

The result is, you can boast in your exaltation as you have an attitude of gratitude, and that’s

where he wants us to be as God’s people, to get our eyes

off of how people see us and to understand how the Father sees

us and why he lavishes such good gifts upon us.

JAMES 1:16-17

16 Do not be deceived, mybeloved brethren.

17 Every good gift and everyperfect gift is from above, andcomes down from the Father oflights, with whom there is novariation or shadow of turning.
