2005 – 2013 Director of Clinical Training, Department of Psychology As Director of Clinical Training (DCT) for the Psychology Program, I assumed primary responsibility for the following chores and responsibilities: 1) monitor the academic and clinical progress of all students enrolled in the clinical program; 2) organize and monitor the process for the bi-annual review of all clinical students and send each student a detailed letter summarizing their strengths and weaknesses, and creating the documentation needed for extreme cases of student misbehavior or incompetence; 3) create or supervise detailed plans for remediation when a student has experienced major struggles in their professional development; 4) provide mentoring guidance, conduct role-played interviews, and write individualized letters of endorsement for all advanced students applying for their pre-doctoral internship; 5) maintain organized and current records for all clinical students and many alumni; 6) provide documentation to the Office of Graduate Studies to facilitate registration for doctoral commencement; 7) provide documentation of graduate training to the State Board of Psychology for students who are applying for licensure; 8) oversee the plans for clinical field placements; 9) initiate a strategy meeting for all field placement supervisors; 10) chair the Clinical Program Business Meetings approximately 10 times per year; 11) serve as a strong role model for the scientist-practitioner, by continuing to publish journal articles, present at national conferences, and remain active each week in the front-lines delivery of clinical services; 12) serve as faculty liaison to the VA Medical Center psychology training committee. The responsibilities of the DCT also involved a number of significant annual projects including: A) track issues related to maintaining the clinical program's full accreditation from the American Psychological Association and anticipate changes needed to effectively prepare for the next self-study; B) supervise the completion of APA's annual report; C) revise our specialty examination rules and procedures; D) revise clinical evaluation forms to remain compatible with APA expectations; E) update the clinical program handbook of rules and guidelines; F) supervise the modifications to the psychology training clinic manual as well as request administrative approval for the faculty practice plan; G) create the annual newsletter to alumni; H) attend the annual meeting of Council of University Directors of Clinical Psychology Programs; I) assist with funding allocation; J) review student progress and select a recipient for one of the clinical program awards for graduate student excellence in teaching, research, therapy, distinguished alumni or faculty recognition; K) oversee the graduate admissions process, that often includes a review of more than 200 applications and conduct on-site interviews of the top 30 applicants; L) hold an orientation meeting for new clinical students; M) host the bi-annual social events for clinical faculty, students, and field placement supervisors; N) monitor updates to the web site to remain current with program changes and APA Office of Accreditation; O) organize the structure and requirements for special examinations; P) arrange topics and identify qualified instructors for the specialty mini-courses, and guide the instructor toward proper goals, format, and grading of the specialty course; Q) nominate speakers for the colloquia series and occasionally fill in as emergency replacement speaker; R) identify qualified instructors for the assessment training sequence; S) consult with department chair regarding the proper allocation of tuition waivers and stipend support; T) help to advertise the clinical program through a high quality program brochure. In addition, I wrote the original clinic manual with all text, forms, and appendices, and I initiated, developed, and wrote the faculty practice plan. 1988 - present Instructor of Cognitive-Behavioral Psychotherapy, licensed psychologist, and clinical supervisor for numerous graduate students, during which I provided year-round supervision of
