    My goal is to convey that same wonder and poetic harmony that I sense in nature.

    Join the Woodson Art Museum or an artistic retreatwith instruction rom trained naturalist, landscapepainter, and the Museums 2011 Master Artist JamesCoe. This three-day plein air workshop, September 11-14,in Wausau, Wisconsin, provides an educational crescendo

    to the 36th annual Birds in Art exhibition openingweekend estivities. The class will travel to and paintscenic vistas in di erent wildli e and recreation areas eachday. Jim will begin with a daily demonstration, ollowedby all-day instruction and critiques. His work may beviewed at www.jamescoe.com .

    Explore the challenges o working in changing lightand atmospheric conditions outdoors, and learn to fnd

    dynamic compositions in nature, using the traditionalmethods and materials o alla prima (direct) painting in oilpaints. Jims presentation Sunday evening will include abrie history o plein air painting, an overview o materialsand approaches to painting in nature, and a how to
