EMACEMAC: : What is it ?What is it ?

The Emergency Management Assistance Compact is based on the premise that no state or local jurisdiction can afford to gather the manpower and resources necessary to handle all emergencies or disasters

Provides business protocols that address issues such as financial reimbursement, professional licenses and liability resulting from mutual assistance




In 1992 Hurricane Andrew brought to the forefront the need to legalize the sharing of response and recovery assets between states.

1993 - Governors signed Southern Region EMAC

1995 - Broadened to EMAC

1996 - Congress consented to national compact through the ratification of Public Law 104-321.

2005 – The Nevada Legislature adopted EMAC – NRS 415
