T here’s alot you can tell about a person from the way theycarry themselves, walk and talk. Subtle dierences are what makeus all unique, but there are those
FREQUE APPAREL SPOTLIGHT
individuals out there that take creativity and styleand completely change the game. One such anindividual, we are happy to say is very close withFrequency Apparel, allow me to introduce to youJames Perez. A Brooklyn native Sunsets up and coming phenom has placed in contests and haswon best trick competitions, giving him a welldeserved buzz and respect all throughout Ny.
I met James a few years ago at Oil Cityskatepark, skeptical I watched him destroy thedown box that they just built. I pardoned his skillto that of being a parkrat. Two weeks after seeing James skate Oil City I ran into him in DowntownManhattan, that session changed my opinion onhim instantly. James had way more condencein approaching his tricks than I saw previouslynot only that but his trick vocabulary had nearly doubled! The tricks he laced and the condence he showed in approaching them, I had no choice but to put him on the team. Since the times of our earlier encounters I’ve watched this youngathlete come up and make a name for himself.
We could tell you everything we think we know about James Perez, but we’re sure you’d rather hearit from the man himself. We were able to get a hold of JP, ask him a few questions so that you couldget a better idea of who this young up and comer is.
At the end of James’ interview you will see why we chose him to jump o the new lineof T-shirts, inspired by the team and aimed to support them.

FREQUE APPAREL SPOTLIGHTTHE 10 SPOT INTERVIEW
DC: Would you like to introduce yourself sir?
JP: Hey what up Dee and Freque!! My name is JamesPerez or JP whichever one you like haha.
DC: Okay James how long have you been skating andwhere do you currently live?
JP: I’ve been skating for six years and still loving iteveryday that goes by. I currently live in Sunset Brooklyn NY.
DC: Sick the way it should be ha, How has the Nyskate scene changed since you started rolling?
JP: The NY skate scene has changed alot, it has itspros and cons but it’s all for the better. Growing upI used to watch Franco,Fish,Austin, all the B-Uniquedudes, Alex and Ramelle killing it and holding itdown for NYC. Now you see alot of individualityin the sport and thats not how it used to be.
DC: What now adays motivates you to skate harder or try new tricks?
JP: What makes me keep moving forward with skating is the love I have for it, ever since I was fourteenand maybe one day Godwilling I could go somewhere with it. I’m just enjoying the sportand milking it for as long as I can no homo haha. (Disclaimer NOT intended to oend anyone in the Gay comunity)
DC: Thats real talk, keep rolling for the love of it and the rest will fall into place. Now if you candescribe yourself in three words.
JP: Try and describe myself in 3 words haha that’s a challenge. Pretty humble kid. Haha
DC: Word thats pretty accurate haha, If you could live anywhere else outside Ny where would it beand why?
JP: If I could live somewhere other than NY (even though NY is the sh*t!) I think it would be Cali , b/calot of pros I grew up watching live out there and skate out there and I would like to blade cont. on next page.

JP: and chill with them. I would also say Az, because my boy Derek goes visits Austin out thereand I hear it has the best spots, the people are chill, and best of all good weather!!! Haha
DC: Thats completely true! ha Az is sick but it’s no Ny, Shout to James and Gretchen at Revolutionskateshop! What other interests do you have beside rolling?
JP: Other things that inuence my character besides skating is playing the drums!! and school has a major role as well.
DC: I had no clue you played the drums that’s pretty sick, yea man stick with the school thingit goes a long way. Alright we’ll try to wrap this up we know your a busy guy, Why do you representFrequency Apparel?
JP: I wouldn’t say I rep Freque, I would say Freque reps me. Frequency is an underground NYC clothing company, and like I said before there is alot of individuality in the sport and it lacks of help from others, so I support it and the owner is a chill dude with a correct attitude and is willingto help out the sport all of us rollerbladers love.
DC: Hey man we here at Frequency are happy to have you working with us James, any last thoughtsor shout outs?
