Why here? Because here is where We are.

We are the diverse minds, faces, passions,

perspectives: the people that

call St. Louis home.

We are a big part of the LGBT community of St.

Louis, and we're throwing ourselves a little party.

We want that party to be here -- to support the

businesses and neighborhoods that support us.

What's missing? A statement.

What does Pride say about St. Louis?

What does Pride say to the mainstream?

What has Pride said in the past?

What we propose.

Pride events on South Grand and in Tower Grove

Park that highlight art, creativity, our identity and

the community

Events that challenge the status-quo, and make a

real statement.

Events that are community-powered

and community supported.PRIDE Tower Grove

How we plan to do it.

By empowering the community: giving these

Pride events to the people -- to organize , plan

and implement .

By employing local talent, local businesses and

local leaders in service of the effort.

By expounding on what speaks to and about

the St. Louis gay community.PRIDE Tower Grove

What we don't want to be.

A diversity campaign for a corporation or a bumper

sticker for a politician.

Antagonistic towards any existing Pride Fest

organizers or events.

Exactly the same, but in a different location.

Boring and predictable. PRIDE Tower Grove

What we want to be.

A unique continuation of a Tower Grove tradition.

Part of a movement to increase LGBTfestivities in St. Louis.

A complement to PrideFest.

A builder of Pride in each of us; a

connector within the LGBT community. PRIDE Tower Grove

Pride St Louis We're excited about our move, and we hope everyone will join us next June. More

details about this year's plans are in the works, and we think there will be something for everyone

to look forward to.

Jennifer Michele Griggs That is a bummer. ...Pride is something I always prefer to keep in Tower

Grove. The grounds are beautiful, the rainbow flags from all the businesses that show support being

there), and the family-friendly environment of the park versus downtown...not to mention the close

proximity to the Grove and just one more little jewel of diversity... Yeah. Not happy about it at all.

Pride St Louis We have loved calling Tower Grove Park home for many years. Record attendance at

recent festivals means we need more resources, such as water , to continue to serve those who visit

the festival. This year's location at Soliders Memorial will make use of several parks in the area, and itwill give Pride a chance to show its presence to the St. Louis region in a bigger way than ever before, in

a time when LGBT rights are making huge strides.

M Rine Hart This is not good news.

Troy Sawyer KC Pride used to have a huge turnout... Then they moved it to downtown and the

attendance skyrocketed down! I know many Kansas Citians that skipped our pride and drove to STL

because of the family friendly essence you all had at the park! I'm not saying its a bad idea, I just hope

your transition is better than ours was!

Rebekah Seevers Agreed. Currently dislike. I love Tower Grove park, visiting Mokabe's for Pride, and the

general area. I have friends who have moved there JUST for Pride. December 5, 2012 at 8:33am · Like · 1

Jennifer Michele Griggs @troy I used to go to KC Pride when I lived out that way, so I know of

what you speak. It was a train wreck the year I went. I'm all about trying something new and

seeing what will happen, but my gut feeling says that ultimately it would be better I don't feel I

can complain too much since I don't have time to volunteer to help with Pride, but I did want tochime in. I see the point in needing a larger area with more resources, though. With growing

numbers it makes sense to have to grow where we are, I just love where it already is so much.

I'll be keeping an eye out for more details. I hope this change goes well and works out! -

Jennifer Michele Griggs aybe it's simply that some of us have seen it happen in other places and

fail, and worry about potential issues. Most of us are stubborn Missourians who have to see it in

action before really making the judgment. But there is no reason whatsoever that some people

can be disappointed and others can be happy about it. It's called a difference of opinion - no

reason to make it seem like we're terrible people for being bummed.

Joshua Barton Curious how this is going to affect PRIDE's relationship with South Grand & South City.

Look at the latest census statistics people: South City is the most ethnically DIVERSE area of Saint Louis.

The rest of the city is heavily segregated...

Pride St Louis We understand that this is a big change, but we are excited to grow Pride as an

organization and a part of the St. Louis community. LGBT rights have made great strides in recent

years, and putting Pride at the center of our city will showcase that we are embraced by our

neighbors from across the St. Louis area. We welcome everyone's input and involvement for Pride

Fest 2013!

Jennifer Michele Griggs @andrew I have a job wherein I am active in and out of my shift, a side job

providing entertainment in the city and several artistic endeavors within the city. I am being the change in

those areas and cannot fully commit to being a part of a Pride committee, as I guess many others herecannot. People have a right to express disappointment and not go, or be disappointed but try it out

anyway to see how it goes. I choose the latter approach, but still think its a slap in the face to the South

Grand neighborhood. My opinion.

Keona Loxe I don't like it. Pride at Tower Grove park makes us feel like it's our own little gay city where

we can feel safe and welcome. There will be a totally different vibe downtown. I would not feel as safe,

especially if I had to take the metrolink down...

John Stewart disappointing...sad to see it go. I think it will change the feel of the fest... I love change but

why mess with something so successful and embraced by the community? It may change it from being a

family friendly event and isolate us more. After many years of attending and loving it most likely will not

attend next year... sorry Pride I feel like I was just punched in the gut...

Keona Loxe My issues are with how comfortable we will feel down there. It will be a completely

different vibe. As much as I don't like the change, I hope it works out, I hope I am wrong. But our little

spot in TG was comfortable, I hope this "expansion" will be worth losing that comfort for a few years.

Keona Loxe And yes, traffic ALWAYS sucks downtown even with small events.

December 5, 2012 at 5:49pm via mobile · Like

Michael Haley What are their plans to increase the security as downtown is less safe than TG at night? I

imagine that what was a festival will turn into just a parade, because not many people want to be

downtown after dark...I am curious as to the "needed more space" comments, ummm...we used

maybe 1/5 of TGP, and there was a lot of unused space there. If Pride (who knew about the increase for

at least 2 years) had worked harder at fundraising, this change wouldn't be necessary. I offered many

suggestions and saw none of them come to fruition. In the past, they sold buttons for $1 and then if you

didn't have one on, your friends could pay and Lisa W (dressed as a keystone cop) would put you in"jail" for 1/2 hour unless you paid that $1 and got a button. All the drag queens have jello shots for sale

out at the bars for pagaents, why didn't Pride sell jello shots? There are many ways to make an

additional $5K in a years time. We had a festival, we now have a parade.
