On 11th April, 2018, I have assumed the charge of Director General, CISF. Indeed, it is a matter of great privilege and pride for me to have the honour of commanding this elite Central Armed Police Force having 1.55 lakh personnel on its roll.Today, CISF is known as a multi-dimensional, professionally competent and people friendly force having a large public interface across the length and breadth of the country. CISF has been shouldering a pivotal responsibility in securing the core areas of the sensitive and critical infrastructure of the country impacting its economic growth.The use of cutting edge technology has been the hallmark of the CISF which has also been continuously adapting itself to face new security challenges. In view of the prevailing security environment in the country and the threats emanating from trans-national terrorism, the force has to constantly strive towards technological modernization and skills upgradation in order to build the edifice of a secure environment in the country. Today, we should resolve ourselves to serve the Nation with pride and honour and achieve the highest standards of professional efficiency. On this occasion, on my part, I fully dedicate myself to the motto of CISF - “Protection and Security”. My priority would be to make a constant endeavour to develop CISF as a highly professional and multi-skilled force fulfilling the expectations of all the stakeholders. It is a matter of great pleasure that this year is being celebrated as the Golden Jubilee Year of the raising of CISF. During the five decades of its existence, CISF has evolved itself from a small force, looking after the security of Industrial Undertakings to a highly versatile, professional force entrusted with the security of all the critical infrastructure and economic assets of the country, viz. Airports, Seaports, Atomic Centres, Space Installations, Delhi Metro, Important Govt. Buildings, Iconic Monuments, Coal, Iron, power, Petroleum and Natural Gas, VIP Security etc. It stands as a testimony to its professional acumen and reputation earned during this short span of time. I convey my best wishes and warm greetings to all the officers, members of the force and their families. I look forward for your active support and cooperation to effectively discharge my duties.

49th CISF Raising Day Parade

CISF celebrated its 49th Raising Day in a grand, colourful and ceremonial manner at 5th Reserve Battalion Campus, Indirapuram, Ghaziabad. On this occasion, Hon’ble Union Home Minister, Shri Rajnath Singh was the Chief Guest. Hon’ble Union Home Minister took the salute and reviewed the parade.

Shri Alok Kumar Pateria, Officiating DG, CISF welcomed the Chief Guest and all the other invitees. In his welcome address Shri Alok Kumar Pateria highlighted the achievements of the Force. While addressing, he said that it was a matter of great pride as CISF would be celebrating the 50th year in securing the most sensitive and critical infrastructure of the country. He further assured that CISF personnel would perform their duties with utmost devotion and dedication in coming years to uphold its motto ‘Protection & Security’.

Hon’ble Union Home Minister conveyed his felicitations for the hard work put in by CISF personnel in the past 49 years. He congratulated the parade commander and all the contingent personnel for their excellent performance. He also congratulated all the Medal Recipients decorated with President's Police Medal for Distinguished Service, Police Medal for Meritorious Service, Fire Service Medals and Union Home Minister’s Medal for Excellence in Police Training for their exemplary performance. He conveyed his best wishes for all round development of the Force. He emphasized that force should observe the year 2018-19 as “Year of Planning” to become a more professional and competent force to handle the emerging challenges. He also urged that CISF must attain new look by the year 2022.

CISF signs MoU with Ashok Travels & Tours (ATT), a division of ITDC

Flag-off Ceremony of 10th Rotation of CISF FPU Contingent to Haiti (MINUJUSTH)

On 08.02.2018, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between CISF and Ashok Travels & Tours (ATT), a division of India Tourism Development Corporation Ltd (ITDC) at CISF HQrs, New Delhi, to provide single platform for booking of airlines tickets & railways ticket during official journeys. The MoU was signed by Shri Piyush Tiwari, Director (C&M), Ashok Travels & Tours (ITDC) and Shri B.S.N. Reddy, AIG (Tech), CISF, in presence of Shri Alok Kumar Pateria, Officiating DG, CISF and Ms Ravneet Kaur, IAS, Chairperson and Managing Director, ITDC.

With the MoU, CISF becomes the first among the CAPF in entering into an MoU with ATT to provide single platform for booking of airlines and railways tickets during official journeys.

On 26.03.2018, at 1000 hrs, a ceremony was organized at CISF HQrs, New Delhi, wherein Shri Alok Kumar Pateria, Officiating DG, CISF flagged-off 140 strong personnel of “CISF- Formed Police Unit (FPU) contingent (10th Rotation)”, popularly known as “Bleus Indiens” for United Nations Mission for Justice Support in Haiti (MINUJUSTH). The contingent is headed by Shri Dhananjay Shukla, Commandant.

CISF FPU Contingent is deployed at UN Mission Haiti since 2008. Every year the contingent is replaced by a new contingent of CISF. United Nation Mission has always appreciated the functioning of CISF at United Nations Stabilization Mission in Haiti.

Inauguration of Kote at IGI Airport

On 10.01.2018, at about 1700 hrs, in an inaugural function Shri O P Singh, IPS, the then DG, CISF inaugurated a centralized Kote at IGI Airport near Terminal-2 parking area. A Biometric Based Management System was introduced in the Kote to provide fool-proof authentication and speedy issuance and deposit of arms & ammunition.

Shri M A Ganapathy, ADG (APS), Shri SIS Ahmad, Director (Security), GMR group, other senior officers of CISF and DIAL were present on the occasion.

On 20.02.2018, His Excellency Shri Tsewang Namgyal, Ambassador, Indian Embassy, Havana (Cuba),

visited CISF FPU-I Contingent Camp at Sonapi (Haiti). While addressing the contingent, he expressed

his gratitude and said that since long, Indian FPUs were part of United Nation Peacekeeping Operation

Mission to Haiti and they have earned goodwill amongst the Haitians. He also said that FPUs represented

our country and performed in peacekeeping operations in excellent manner.

On 01.01.2018, Shri O P Singh, IPS, the then DG, CISF released CISF Calendar and Diary-2018 in a function organized at CISF HQrs, New Delhi.

The photographs in the CISF calendar portray the multi-faceted role and competence of CISF. In order to have good quality photographs, renowned photographer Mr. Pravin Talan was associated. Mr. Talan is a well-known name in the field of photography who has also worked with NSG, Mumbai Police, BSF, CRPF etc.

The CISF Calendar-2018 is focused on the multi-dimensional operational responsibilites of CISF.

‘Durathon’- a running competition

On 11.03.2018, at about 1530 hrs, ‘All Women - Bike Rally’ organized by Navbharat Times, was flagged off by famous actor Mr Ajay Devgan and actress Ms Ileana D’Cruz at Saket, New Delhi. A team of 45 women personnel of CISF Delhi based units participated in the rally.

On 25.03.2018 from 0630 to 0715 hrs, “Durathon”- a running competition was organised by Duracell Company outside the Gate No. 03 of Rajiv Chowk Metro Station. About 350 participants including CISF personnel from CISF Unit DMRC, Delhi participated in the event. Shri Raghubir Lal, IPS, DIG DMRC also participated in this event. During the competition, Constable Amit Kumar of CISF won first prize i.e. LED TV & cheque of $ 5000/-. 2nd and 3rd prizes were also won by the CISF personnel.
