    Notes from the Youth Director

1 John 3:18-20 Little children, let us love, not in word or speech , but in truth and action.19And by this wewill know that we are from the truth and will reassure our hearts before him 20 whenever our hearts con-demn us; for God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year! I want to say thank you to all of you

who have supported the youth in the year 2012. What a great journey for us! We had many successfulevents: we held a Youth led worship service on January 1, Candlelight Dinner, Golf Outing, celebrated thehigh school seniors, attended the ELCA National Youth convention, participated in the 30 hour famine, supported Just Pancakes and volunteered our time, supported Souper Bowl for caring and many more funactivities.

I would like to thank those of you who came to worship December 30 with Rew!nd and Rachel Kurtz. What a special gift to our congregation to have a well-known Christian artist share in the word and theamazing ministry led by our very own youth band, Rew!nd. We are so blessed to have youth who canshare in the word through their gifts of music! I would like to give a big THANK YOU to the Susor clanand all their sidekicks who helped prepare an amazing breakfast for the congregation and guests.

I have decided since early fall that I would like the congregation and the high school youth to get acquaint-ed with one another. Therefore, every Sunday for the last few months a congregation member comes andintroduces themselves to the youth and shares in their journey here at St. Mark and their walk of faith. It

has made a positive impact on our youth as they have shared in their reflection with the adult leaders ofMerge that their words are encouraging, motivating, and inspirational. I welcome anyone who is willing tospeak to the high school youth and would appreciate your words and time. If you feel called to do this, please contact me at [email protected] or 419-691-3597 or 419-704-0622. Thank you to those who

    CONSTITUTION COMMITTEE

The Constitution Committee is comprised of Rita Carter, Chairperson; John Jenkins, Leslie Carr, Mike Liv-

ingston, Barry Ramlow, Kent Rhubright, Tom Susor and Pastor Beth Giller. We have been meeting since

April, reviewing the current St. Mark Constitution and Continuing Resolutions. We reviewed other

churchs constitutions for their council structural layout. We have spent a considerable amount of time re-

viewing and updating our Constitution and Continuing Resolutions. We need the congregation to vote onthe Constitution to accept the changes. We will be presenting the Constitution changes at the annual meet-

ing in January and then again at a special meeting in the spring. It takes two special meetings with votes at

each to implement the changes. The Church Council has to vote and approve the Continuing Resolutions.

Due to the volumes of paper that would be used to print a copy for everyone, if you need a copy of the Con-

stitution and or Continuing Resolutions please contact Pat Henry in the church office to get a copy or have

her send you an electronic version. Please feel free to contact Rita Carter or anyone of the committee mem-

bers for any questions or concerns you might have.
