Accessing Gateway
Parents will be informed when UOI report comments are completed
Reports can be downloaded and printed as a PDF document
The school will not be sending home a hard copy of the reports
Parent/Teacher Consultations (Oct/Nov) - booking appointments will be online through Gateway
Homework
•Reading, language and maths activities are mandatory, but may be differentiated and can be website based
•Spellings (based on Words their Way)
• A hard copy of the grid will be sent home in the homework book
• Chinese is given out separately on the Buzz and any queries should be directed to your child’s Chinese teacher
• Children need to be learning times tables facts
• Expectations for homework presentation are in the front of your child’s Homework Book
Health
•Bradbury tries to be a nut free zone
•Chewing gum is not allowed in school
•Medicines need to be handed directly to the school nurse
•Please update the medical information on Gateway (this is particularly important for camp)
•Long hair should be tied back

Year 5 Camp November (5J/5T) 10th -12th/(5D/ 5S) 17th -19th November
Camp briefing for parents – Wednesday 8th October 5pm (school hall)
Macau Visit - Passport
•Early notice to update your child’s passport in preparation for this visit
•Your child’s passport will need to have at least 6 months validity
•The visits are tentatively set for 6th/ 13th March
•We will be checking & photocopying student passport/ ID card one month before the visit- this is for insurance purposes
Maths is differentiated and the groupings are fluid
A pretest determines which group your child will be in working in for each area i.e. number, shape, measure & data
The pretest is an indicator of what your child needs to learn
The children are continuously assessed to monitor their progress
Reports at the end of term 1, 2 and 3 will be available on Gateway

Writing: draft, edit, peer edit, teacher edit and publish
Regular writing tasks are linked to UOI for relevance and will cover a range of genres
