In general, we avoid using ingredients that contain gluten where they serve no functional purpose or can be replaced by gluten-free alternatives; however, ingredients and formulas may vary between regions. When the use of ingredients containing gluten is critical to the product taste experience, we follow all labeling requirements to allow our consumers to make an informed choice. We always advise consumers who are concerned about food sensitivities to read the label and check with their doctor if they have questions.” **This company does not list top 8 allergens so they suggest reading all individual product labels**

Trick-or-Treating
Tips for a fun gluten-free night (and avoiding a
melt-down):
• Discuss the plan and set the rules ahead of time
• All candy will be sorted with mom and dad, and the gluten-
containing candy will be given to food banks or can be
traded with siblings
• Determine how
much candy will be
kept, and how much
will be allowed to
eat each day
Everything in Moderation• Allow your child to fill up 1 bag with his/her
favorites and give away the rest
• Minimize choices: Keep a small container on
the counter for your child to choose one or
two pieces for dessert, then refill it from the
larger stash
• Always brush teeth after
eating simple sugars to
prevent dental carries!
Classroom & Kids Parties• Bring GF treats to share
• Notify the party host ahead of time
• Make sure you have a 504 plan with your school
Face Paint & Costume Makeup
Do you need to worry?
• Gluten cannot be absorbed
through the skin
• BUT, especially for young
children, makeup may end up
on the hands and in the mouth
• Many people with celiac
disease have additional
sensitivities to topical products;
test them out before Halloween
to avoid a disaster
Make your own GF face paint
1. Mix body lotion or cold cream (check for GF
ingredients) with cornstarch until it reaches a
paint-like consistency (usually double the
cornstarch to lotion). Add a few drops of food
coloring
2. Start with a very light-
complexioned face
foundation and mix in
GF eye-shadows

Ask the Dietitian
• Cinnamon and sugar
• Garam masala
• Paprika
• Rosemary and parmesan cheese
• Brown sugar, chipotle chile powder, cumin
Gluten-Free Cider & Beer
• Ciders are the trendy alcoholic beverage and the
perfect flavor for the fall season. Most ciders are
naturally gluten-free
• Beer labeled gluten-free,
not gluten-removed
• Choose those that are
labeled GF and/or list
ingredients
• Choose bottled, not tap!
Pumpkin Spice Latte
• Many popular coffee shops are not making allergen
information public; ask questions and do research
• Treat coffee shops as restaurants; if ingredients are
gluten-free be weary of cross-contact and notify
your barista of your dietary restriction. Ask them to
wash equipment thoroughly
• Possible gluten-containing ingredient: malt flavor
Make Your Own PSL• Mix ½ tsp pumpkin pie spice with 2 tsp honey,
agave, or maple syrup (note: honey and agave are
higher in fructose and may cause GI distress)
• Brew coffee. Mix 8 oz coffee
with 1 tsp pumpkin-spice-
sweetener until dissolved.
• Shake 2/3 cup milk in a jar for 2
minutes to make frothy, then
microwave for 20-30 seconds
and mix into coffee. Top with
froth.
