St. Mary’s HistoryFounded by The Reverend Ernest D. Sillers in 1994 as a non-church affiliated school. We are a welcoming community, accepting people of all faiths or none. We are committed to academic excellence and a code of moral development based on Christian values. We firmly believe that this is the best way to prepare youths for the inevitability of a more globally-connected world.

Our Founder❏ Father Sillers founded a string of Orange County Schools❏ All are strong in both moral and academic development❏ St. Mary’s was Father Sillers’ fourth and final school❏ Our Episcopal Christian heritage grounds us and reminds us of Father Sillers’ words when

describing St. Mary’s School:

“My original vision was to create an institution from the cradle to the grave. An environment in which we would make a difference in the lives of children, ultimately creating a better moral climate within our society.”

Looking Ahead❑ Completion of 2016-2019 Strategic Plan

❑Tracking to meet all of our goals

❑ Creation of 2020-2023 Strategic Plan

❑Board of Trustees and other key stakeholders have begun the process for our next 3-year plan

❑ CAIS and International Baccalaureate Accreditations

❑California Association of Independent Schools granted us a 7-year accreditation last review (the longest a school can receive). Dec. 2019, we will submit our self-study; the accreditation team will visit in spring of 2020

❑International Baccalaureate accreditation occurs every 5 years. Our self-study will take place during the 2019-2020 school year;the accreditation team will visit in the fall of 2020

❑ School year 2019-2020

❑In recent years we have had to aggressively increase tuition to achieve our goals (outlined in the strategic plan)

❑For the 2019-2020 school year, the tuition increase is 4% (the lowest increase in a decade)

❑As we have shared previously, in order to meet our objectives to 1. attract and retain talented teachers; 2. maintain a low student-to-teacher ratio; and 3. augment our working budget, parents can expect an increase in the range of 3.5 to 6% annually
