Dear Parishioners and Friends of St. Eulalia Parish,

How beautiful are the feet of those who bring the good news! (Rom 10:15). The cele-brations we have had from Christmas until the Baptism of the Lord certainly paint a wonderful picture of the beautiful feet of those who brought the good news of God’s Kingdom: the angels who announced to Mary, Mary herself, Joseph, the Shepherds, the Magi, and John the Baptist. With the help of God, we also show to the world our beauti-ful feet by bringing the message of the Lord to all the earth (Ps10).

Today this Scripture passage is fulfilled in your hearing (Lk4:21). Jesus, the new born King, encourages us every day when we come to church to encounter God. Our Christ-mas celebrations made me feel that I have been greatly blessed to be your priest. I have seen many parishioners who came back to Masses for the first time since the pandemic. They told me how much they missed the church and how eager they are to come back. They welcomed me in person though with masks on. They felt very safe being in church.

Here, I need to say a heartfelt THANK YOU to all the members of our St. Eulalia Par-ish community because of your warm welcome of me. You have made me feel that I am at home and being loved greatly. While I was reading the Christmas cards that you sent to me, the tears came down my cheek. Your kind words have touched my heart and your prayers have reached my soul. Thank You.

God is made known to the gentiles as we celebrated the Epiphany of the Lord last Sun-day. Jesus is made known to the entire world, even to the entire universe, on the Day of the Baptism this Sunday. You are my beloved Son; with you I am well pleased (Mk1:11). How wonderful it is to be people of Faith because we know that we are loved by God. How great it is that we are able to share God’s love with others! How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of the one bringing good news, announcing peace, bearing good news, announcing salvation (Is52:7).

God bless,

Fr. John Chen

S J 10 First Reading Isaiah 55:1–11 (21B) “All who are thirsty, come to the water!…I will renew with you the everlasting covenant, the benefits assured to David.” Responsorial Psalm Isaiah 12:2–3, 4bcd, 5–6 You will draw water joyfully from the springs of salva-tion. Second Reading 1 John 5:1–9 The Spirit, the water and the blood all testify. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, came through water and blood. The Spirit is truth. Gospel Acclamation cf. John 1:29 John saw Jesus approaching him, and said: Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. Gospel Mark 1:7–11 When John baptized Jesus, the sky opened and the Spir-it descended like a dove. A heavenly voice said, “You are my beloved Son; with you I am well pleased.” S J 11 11 Mon Heb 1:1-6/Mk 1:14-20 12 Tue Heb 2:5-12/Mk 1:21-28 13 Wed Heb 2:14-18/Mk 1:29-39 14 Thu Heb 3:7-14/Mk 1:40-45 15 Fri Heb 4:1-5, 11/Mk 2:1-12 16 Sat Heb 4:12-16/Mk 2:13-17 17 SUN 1 Sm 3:3b-10, 19/1 Cor 6:13c-15a 17-20/Jn 1:35-42 S S Monday Jan 11 9:00 Daily Mass Tuesday Jan 12 9:00 Daily Mass Wed Jan 13 9:00 Daily Mass Thursday Jan 14 9:00 No Streaming Friday Jan 15 9:00 No Streaming Saturday Jan 16 4:00 Vigil Mass Sunday Jan 17 10:00 Sunday Mass 5:00 Sunday Mass D W D 28 Masses: $ 2,624 Mail In: $ 60,565 Online: $ 21,013 Total: $ 84,202

Our Miracle Stories My miracle story-I was on pilgrimage to Gara-bandal in Spain with a healing priest from Cana-da. I had had a stricture in my esophagus for many years, with many trips to the ER to remove something that had become stuck, preven ng me from even swallowing saliva. Every few months I would have to have an endoscopy and the esophagus stretched. At a healing service in the chapel in Garabandal, the healing priest prayed over me. He didn't touch me, but I felt a force pushing me back. I lay on the floor crying for several minutes. The stricture disappeared, and I have never had a problem since. Anna-Marie Ferraro
