Roamin’ with Rodney… Good Sunday to you! As always it is great to be together! It is always a great blessing to worship our God. My prayer is that we all are safe and well today. If you are visiting, we are honored and blessed to have you today. If there is a need in your spiritual life that we can assist with, if you need encouragement, or if you’d like to study the Bible together to grow in your knowledge, please let us know. We would love those opportunities! I know there are concerns about COVID-19 and the health of others all around us. You may remember the illustration I borrowed from Kirk Brothers in my Sunday morning sermon on March 22 when I spoke about how people are at different levels of concern. Some are flippant with their attitudes, while others are hysterical. Perhaps I should have held that illustration until now. It seems the wide range of emotions are just now affecting us, as it appears the cases are now increasing in this area. I personally am now aware of people who have experienced the virus. Although I am thankful that I haven’t had to deal with it personally, there are family members who have had to do so. I know of others who have had concerns that they have been exposed to the virus and chose to be tested. The future is uncertain. We don’t know what tomorrow will bring. We or someone we love could contract the virus next. But, what we can all know is that God has the future in HIS hands. We can trust and be confident in the God we come to worship today. There is someone greater than the virus who still exists. I pray that we are all safe and respectful of others. On Wednesday evenings, we have been covering some topics that I hope are encouraging you in your spiritual journey. As always, I welcome your thoughts on other topics that need to be included in the lessons. As I stated this past Wednesday, I am trying to cover topics that will help the church be stronger during this time. I want to uplift and strengthen our spiritual walk in Christ. The first two topics were “Encouraging One Another” and “Hope.” Upcoming Wednesday night topics include: “Unity”, “Peace”, “Love One Another”, “Forgiveness”, “Grace and Mercy”, and “Heaven”. If you have other ideas that would be a good encouraging topic, please share with me. I am enjoying the studies and I pray they are helpful to us as a church as we seek to reopen, rebuild, regroup, and reach toward Heaven. It was exciting to see all the great things going on here when the virus struck. Although I am not sure how long it will take us to recover, I have confidence in the great people here at Leoma and that we will rebound and be even stronger in the coming years! To God to be the glory! In HIS Service, Rodney Livingston
