Greetings!

It has been two weeks now that I have had thepleasure of helping out at your Chamber office.

You probably get tired of me saying thanks inthis column, but this chamber revolves partiallyaround the volunteers that continuously give oftheir precious time, and saying thank you is theleast I can do.

The other very important piece to the cham-ber is the staff. This is not the first time that Gregg,as Executive Assistant, has helped carry us througha period of time without an executive director. Andhe does a tremendous job of keeping all projectsgoing forward, fielding phone calls, and helping outwherever needed with his gracious spirit. Dmitri,as Communications Director, is a great source of computer skill levels, and is keeping us afloat with those skills: taking over the production ofthis newsletter, producing the program for the Annual Awards Banquet, and at the same time keeping our website up to date. Penny, in her posi-tion as your Employment Solutions Business Assistance Representative, has been an enormous help to me and to others with her calm nature. She has helped with writing newsletter articles and aided with the pro-cess of hiring your new executive director. And last but not least, JaneGruver who is so steadfast and dedicated to this office. All in all, thisChamber would not be such a "going concern", without these people andI thank them profusely.

Please take the time to nominate your choice for the Business of theYear, Citizen of the Year and Chamber Volunteer of the Year.

Happy New Year to all of you!

MANKEADVERTISMENT

As 2006 comes to a close, it is timeto reflect back on who made a notabledifference this year. Our community isfortunate to have so many “can do”companies and citizens and each yearthe Chamber recognizes those organi-zations and people for the extraordi-nary efforts.

This year’s event is appropriatelythemed “Our Turn to Shine,” as we rec-ognize our community’s specificachievements and all of the volunteerefforts that it takes to accomplish allthat the Chamber does in a year’s time.
