Reports: Shed Report: John King reported had finally lo~ated someone local to look at shed, would be the next morn. The soda blast material is $100 a bag, not known how much would be needed. Other option is high pressure cleaning which is $85per hour. John to report back next meeting.

Events: *Northam Swap Meet 2013: first event for year, never a problem, but now officially booked. More in GB. *Swan Hill: Question as to whether we attend. Yes, although 2012 was on Mothers Day, not ideal but may be same. *Bakers Hill Motorama: This is of course in March in 2013

*Trees out front: From correspondence & now visually, the trees out the front have been levelled, except for two. The next step will be the fence down while the stumps are being ground out, then the fence will be relocated a little closer to the building by the Shire. It is imperative that th~ front area remain secure at all times, & as Jeff suggested, he may stay on site depending on how long the job woulq take. Moved: Theo Bekkers (Jr) .. Seconded: JetfMills .. That a letter be written to the Shire enquiring how long the job would take. & i[there was to be a temporary fence around the area closer to the roadside for Security purposes.

*NHF & Shire of Northam: Working Party Meeting held on 51h Dec, A VVV A Sec/Rep attended. Question re Water

Charges- NK. Minutes confirmed that Shire pay water consumption and rates. Rubbish rates paid 50/50 with A VVV A. Power meter source to be checked- who pays what, to keep in mind A VVV A have considerably less usage. Shire reported that Water and Electricity for 2011/12 was $2,133. Other matters discussed were- Signage needed at Town entrances, NHF needed a signed copy oftheir Leas~ Agreement, proposed lease of between ONRS & Shire Offices- old platform and land either side, proposed lease of platform re old signal box & access to A VVV A shed. It was also mentioned that the back gate was left open on Friday 9th November. Checks confirmed that no A VVV A members were in attendance that day or weekend, may have been tradesmen. NHF were advised re the culling of the trees in front of A VVV A. Stan to check on our Lease progress.

*Club Events: A notice was put in the newsletter above Coming Events, titled 'On the Road Again'. Some members said prior that they prefer to do their own thing, and some have said it's a good idea. This system will now be trialled this coming year. The one thing it has brought about is that a Member hflS cpme forward, looking to have a Club organised Run, spring next year, to Nine Acre Rock, Brookton & have various Members join us on the way. (round trip from Northam, through Quairading, to above venue, to maybe Gwambygine Park & back to Northam, apx 280km). Perhaps morn. tea at the Quairading Mens Shed, lunch at Nine Acre Rock, and afternoon tea at Gwambygine Park or a Museum on the way. Sounds a lot, but last year we went from Northam to Corrigin Motor Show for the day, and back to Northam, and members are intending to go again this coming year to Corrigin, so certainly has possibilities. So please keep this in mind.

* AHMF: Letter to Director of Tariff Concessions re the revoking of tariff concession and its impact on the historical vehicle restoration industry. After discussion concerning this matter, it was agreed that a letter be written in support.

*Swap Meet 2013: Our hiring of Jubilee Oval was confirmed today, hire fee is $150 for each 4hrs, so the one Oval will be $300 for the Sunday. lt is probable that we can only have one Oval, Jubilee, which suits our purpose for the Swapmeet, especially with attention to placements & fUTangements. Further information will come to hand re toilet facilities & the hire of same. Other details in hand with Swap Meet committee.

*Concessional Licence: A New Members day was held at VCC recently.lt was revealed that a person in charge (from the E.S.) did not realise that in W A we do have to carry the letter of authorisation from our respective Clubs when using a concessionally licenced vehicle for a nop-club event ie a wedding, education, visit etc. These uses must be without any kind of recompense.

*Theo Bekkers: Senior was in hospital recently, not a happy person in hospital, but now home, pretty well recovered, and being looked after between his son (Theo Jr) and pis paughter. Best wishes go to him for a full and speedy recovery. Th~re being no further business the meeting closed at 9:15pm

I would like to inform you that the Australian GP at Barbagallo in November went of really well. Our

son Colin Betts did compete in it and really enjoyed it. Bob was also host to entertain 9 of the

overseas competitors and they were all very nice people and impressed with our state. They did

say they would all come back for the next meeting in two years time. Hope this information helps

you a little to know that we were represented by club members. Claire Betts.

How it all began ... In ancient Israel, it came to pass that a trader by the name of Abraham Com did take unto himself a wife by the name of Dot. And Dot Com was a comely woman, broad of shoulder and long of leg. Indeed, she was often called Amazon Dot Com. And she said unto Abraham, her husband, "Why dost thou tr~vel so far from town to town with thy goods when thou canst trade without ever leaving thy tent?" And Abraham did look at her as though she were several saddle bags short of a camel load, but simply said, "How, dear?" And Dot replied, "I will place drums in all the towns and drums in between to send messages saying what you have for sale, and they will reply telling you who hath the best price. And the sale can be made on the drums and delivery made by Uriah's Pony Stable (UPS)." Abraham thought long and decided he would let Dot have her way with the drums. And the drums rang out and were an immediate success. Abraham sold all the goods he had at the top price, without ev~r having to move from his tent. To prevent neighbouring countries from overhearing what the drums were saying, Dot devised a system that only she and the drummers knew. It was known as Must Send Drum Over Sound (MSDOS), and she also developed a language to transmit ideas and pictures Hebrew To The People (HTTP). And the young men did take enterprising to Dot Com's trading as doth the greedy horsefly take to camel dung. They were called Nomadic Ecclesiastical Rich Dominican Sybarites, or NERDS. And lo, the land was so feverish with joy at the new riches and the deafening sound of drums that no one noticed that the real riches were going to that drum dealer, Brother William of Gates, who bought off every drum maker in the land. And indeed did insist on drums to be made that would work only with Brother Gates' drumheads and drumsticks. And Dot did say, "Oh, Abraham, what we have started is being taken over by others." And Abraham looked out over the Bay of Ezekiel, or eBay as it came to be known. He said, "We need a name that reflects what we are." And Dot replied, "Young Ambitious Hebrew Owner Operators." "YAHOO," said Abraham. And because it was Dot's idea, they named it YAHOO Dot Com. Aqraham's cousin, Joshua, being the young Gregarious Energetic Educated Kid (GEEK) that he was, soon started using Dqt's drums to locate things around the countryside. It soon became known as God's Own Official Guide to Locating Everything (GOOGLE). That is how it all began.
