KAMLOOPS SALE - TUESDAY JANUARY 14, 2014 Huge receipts to start the year here in Kamloops as 960 head of cattle were sold!!

Today started with cows and were they ever strong. The Buse Creek Ranch’s

1480 lb butcher cows notched 84.00. The Frolek Cattle Co. with 2 liner loads of

heiferetts and butcher cows, their pen of 19 1002 lb Hereford hieferretts traded to

105.00, a top pen of 15 head of their 1342 butcher cows marched to 79.25. George

Little set a pace today with 1520 lb butcher cows marking 77.75 his 1830 lb

butcher bulls notched 90.25. The Nicola Ranch’s 2215 lb bulls hit a high of 92.00.

At 11:30 sharp our very own Kamloops in-house video Auction featured two

ranches, the Alexis Creek Ranch set a new trend with 220 head of their powerful

500 lb s/c notching 208.75. The second load of their 585 lb good & fancy s/c

raced to 194.75. Dave & Wanda Casorso had their load of fancy 700 lb blk heifers

hit 163.50.

Continuing on with the regular sale the Mitchell Cattle Co. load of 1585 lb butch-

er cows hit 77.75. Stacey Galbraith had 1070 lb steers reach 129.50. Ringdal

Farms had 800 lb steers hit 157.00. Bob & Donna Leavitt’s 621 lb red s/c hit

186.50. Semlin Ranch had their 808 lb Mt Billiard dairy steers hit 136.50, the

616 lb steers topped 145.00. Dan & Colleen Law 585 lb red s/c hit 188.00, their

491 lb s/c rolled to 197.50 and the 555 lb h/c reached 160.00. Fred Sterling from

Merritt put us at a pace today with his 655 lb bull calves notching 151.00. Dean &

Salley Handley from Sicamous had 620 lb h/c race to 157.00. Pat Lawrence

from Keremeos had 448 lb s/c roll to 193.00.

Next sale here in Kamloops is a big one on Tuesday January the 28th with

over 1000 head expected. 400 top quality bred cows and heifers but also fea-

turing well over 400 calves, with lots of them perfect for grass at 500-600 lbs.
