In his remark, the Vice Chancellor,
while appreciating the award of
honour, commended NANS for its
commitment to scholarship and
excellence. He also assured them
that Fountain University will contin-
ue to maintain its vision as a pace-
setting institution in terms of learn-
ing, character-building and service
to humanity.
The Coordinator of students Repre-
sentative Council (SRC) of Fountain Uni-
versity, Adegboye Talib; the Assistant
General Secretary, Towolawi Rashidat;
the Female Coordinator, Ashimolowo
Azeezat and Mustapha Habeeba, the
MSSN Amira of the university were at
the event.

Nigerian Students (NANS) has
adjudged Fountain University
Oshogbo as the best Private
University in Nigeria with the
presentation of an award of
Excellence to the University
Vice Chancellor, Prof Bashir
Ademola Raji and other prin-
cipal officers in the Senate
Chamber on Wednesday
January 21, 2015.
The Senate President of the
Association, Comrade
Oloyede Oriyomi, a 400 level student of
Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, made it
known that the student organisation has
members across all tertiary institutions in
Nigeria. He expressed their determination
to educate student association members
not to be used as a tool for electioneering
campaigns and rallies by politicians before
and during the forthcoming general elec-
tions as recorded in the past. Rather they
should be seen as promoters of scholarship
and celebrate excellence in Nigeria Universi-
ties.
The delegation also had NANS Director of
Campus Affairs Comrade Oluwafemi Williams,
a student of Federal University of Technology
Akure; NANS Public Relations Officer, Com-
rade Oyejobi Olakunle, an HND II Mass Com-
munication student of Lagos State Polytech-
nic; NANS Welfare and Strategy Director,
Comrade Oluwatobi Johnson, a Business Ad-

FOUNTAIN CHIEF ENGINEER PASSES ON
FOUNTAIN UNIVERSITY COLLABORATES WITH IUA, SUST
F ountain University in its
quest to realizing its
vision as a pace-setting
institution and produc-
ing competitive and resourceful
graduates has added another inter-
national collaboration with Sudan
University of Science and Technolo-
gy and the International University
of Africa, Khartoum, Sudan.
The Vice Chancellor, Prof. B.A Raji,
accompanied by the Chief Imam of
the University and Coodinator of
GNS Department, Alh. A.A Adedimeji
was on an official visit to Sudan to
sign a Memorandum of Understand-
ing with two universities based in
Khartoum, Sudan. He also attended
an International Conference of Rec-
tors and Vice Chancellors of Islamic
Universities in Africa on the 6th of
January 2015.
The Memorandum of Understanding
signed with Sudan University of Sci-
ence and Technology covers a period
of five years. The terms of collabora-
tion include research support for
faculty members and students, ex-
change of culture, curriculum, and
sports services among others. While
the collaboration with the Interna-
tional University of Africa, centers
around facilitating easy access of
Fountain University students and
NASFAT members travel to Sudan for
a three month Arabic Proficiency
course preferably during the long
vacation which is Usually between
July to September. This arrangement
will make Fountain University staff and
students and Nasfat members have the
opportunity to interact with Arabs,
learn and converse in Arabic language.
This memorandum of understanding
covers a period of three years and it
takes immediate effect.
However, Fountain University prides
itself as the Only Nigerian University
invited from Nigeria to attend the inter-
national conference of Rectors and Vice
Chancellors held in Sudan.
During the visit, the Vice Chancellor
was honored with an award at the
event.
Bello, the chief Engineer of
Fountain University who an-
swered the call of Allah(SWT) on
Saturday February 7, 2015.
The fifty-five year old engineer
was buried according to Islamic
rites in his resident at Agunbele-
wo in Osogbo on the 8th of
Febuary 2015 and a fidau prayer
was held for the deceased at
the same venue on the 14th of
February 2015.

Engineer’s death is a great loss

University community and he
prayed to Allah to forgive the
sins, grant him eternal rest,
make Al-janah Fridaus his final
abode as well as grant his family

loss.

Fountain University played host to
Officials of the National Youth Service
Corp on January 21, 2015 at
the orientation programme
for prospective corps mem-
bers of the University at the
Eti-Osa Lecture Theatre of
the University.
Mr Amusan O.J, Assistant
Director Of NYSC Corp mobi-
lization in his address gave
the new directives on the
modalities of mobilization of new
corp members in areas of online reg-
istration and payment as required by
the scheme. He explained that NYSC
scheme was established by decree 24,
May 22, 1973 in order to reconstruct,
reconcile and rebuild the National En-
tity of Nigeria after the National Civil
war.
It is also aimed at proper development
of common ties between Nigerian
youths and promotion of National Uni-
ty. He emphasized the three major
stages of the programme which in-
clude the first three weeks Orientation,
Place of Primary Assignment
(PPA), Secondary Assignment
which is the Community Develop-
ment Service (CDS) and the Pass-
ing out Parade (POP).
Mr. Issa, the Local Government
Inspector of Osogbo Local Gov-
ernment implored the prospec-
tive corp members to put in their
best and participate actively in all
activities during their service year
as there are rewards for outstanding per-
formance which include monetary bene-
fit, an award from the president of Nige-
ria, scholarship to study a post graduate
programme in any part of the world and
employment in the federal public service

The first semester of the 2014/2015
academic session has officially come
to an end on the February 10, 2015
with rounding up of the examinations
in the College of Natural and applied
Sciences (CONAS), College of Manage-
ment and Social Sciences (COMASS)
and the Foundation degree courses
respectively.
FIRST SEMESTER COME TO AN END
The session which started with regis-
tration of students (both returning and
freshers), lectures and matriculation
activities were brought to an with the
examinations and release of results
and approval by the school senate.
However, the second semester has
been scheduled to commence in Shaa
Allah on the 9th of March 2015.
