The DON brake pad program represents the optimal solution for a cost effective product - backed by TMD Friction quality, engineering and testing and fully produced in the European TMD Friction facilities.

Initial cost savings may seem like a good idea, however downtime costs can quickly outstrip any initial up front savings. By fitting quality materials, (although more expensive) the operator has greater control of his costs and over the longer term will be more cost effective and save money.

Manage your"Cost of Ownership" more effectively

Based on test results undertaken by TMD Friction, the projected life expectancy of a “low cost” pad versus a TEXTAR OE pad fitted to a DAF XF Truck were calculated. An operator agreed to carry a vehicle test on behalf of TMD. Two vehicles travelling the same route and carrying similar loads were chosen for the test. After approx 10 weeks both vehicles were routinely inspected, it was assumed that both brake pads would retain their integrity and give a similar performance throughout the test. However the results were surprising, below are pictures of both pads and their condition after approx 10 weeks.
