As I write this, we are nearing the end of 2018
and looking ahead to 2019. This has been a
strange and fascinating year. In many ways it
fit that classic opening line of Dickens’ A Tale of
Two Cities:
“It was the best of times, it was the worst of
times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age
of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was
the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of
Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the
spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we
had everything before us, we had nothing before
us, we were all going direct to heaven, we were
all going direct the other way…”
Or, more appropriately the opening lines of
the book of Ecclesiastes: The Words of the
Preacher, the Son of David, king in Jerusalem.
“Vanity of vanities,” says the Preacher, “Vanity
of vanities! All is vanity.” (Ecclesiastes 1:1-2).
But, lest we wallow in wearisome reflection on
a tumultuous and yet wonderful year gone by,
let us look ahead to 2019 with a renewed con-
viction to face each day dwelling on “whatever
is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right,
whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is
of good repute, if there is any excellence and if
anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things.
9 The things you have learned and received and
heard and seen in me, practice these things, and
the God of peace will be with
you.” (Philippians 4:8-9, NASB)
May the God of Peace be with you throughout
the coming year.

The New Year is here!!!! Remember how powerful “The Crimson Gospel” was back in September? This May, the choir will be presenting a powerful musical called
“Horizon”.
We will be doing a read through of the music on Wednesday, January 9 at 6:30pm in the choir room. Don’t miss out on the
opportunity to be part of this powerful musical with an equally powerful impact of The Gospel. Begin praying now for this
time and for those who would need to hear about the love and
grace of Jesus.
Kidz Choirs will start back on
Sunday, January 6th.
